Teridona School of Dance, located in Bessemer, Alabama, boasts a rich legacy of over 50 years, dating back to its founding in 1968 by Terry Farrington and Donna Jones. Now under the dedicated leadership of owners Renee Lamar and Heather Roberts (née Goolsby), the studio continues to foster a passion for dance and performance for students of all ages, from two and up. Teridona offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to nurture talent across a diverse range of disciplines, including Ballet, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. Acrobatics and Clogging are also specialties. The studio is home to a team of experienced instructors and teacher assistants, including Spencer Smith, Alisa Lamar, Christina Edmonds, Katie Strozier, Kim Vice, Anna Mareno, Cortnee Bennett, Taylor Morgan, Candace Gamble, and Lauren Davis, each bringing unique expertise to their classes. Renee Lamar specializes in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, and Acro, with a fondness for baby and combination classes. Heather Roberts expertly teaches Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, and pre-school classes. Spencer Smith excels in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Adult Hip Hop; Alisa Lamar focuses on Jazz; Christina Edmonds on Ballet, Jazz, and Tap; Katie Strozier on Ballet and Tap; Kim Vice on Tap and Clogging; and Anna Mareno brings competitive experience to Clog and Jazz. Assistants Cortnee Bennett, Taylor Morgan, Candace Gamble, and Lauren Davis support various classes. Teridona is committed to providing a nurturing environment where students develop essential dance skills, learn the importance of performance, audience engagement, hard work, and fun. The studio actively prepares students for competitive performances, local community events, parades, and showcase opportunities, having even performed at Walt Disney World and in New York City. Specialized programs include a summer dance camp and intensive programs for aspiring competitive team members.
