Southern Poise Dance Center offers a wide array of dance styles, ensuring a perfect fit for every aspiring dancer. Disciplines include the foundational grace of Ballet, the energetic rhythms of Hip Hop, and the expressive movements of Contemporary dance. The studio cultivates a love for dance through diverse styles, aiming to foster poise and artistry in every student. The dance season at Southern Poise Dance Center kicks off with the First Week of Dance from August 18th-21st. Key dates throughout the year include breaks for Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mardi Gras, and Spring Break. Preparations for the annual showcase involve costume deposits and recital fees, culminating in rehearsals and the highly anticipated recital held at Murphy High School on June 19th and June 20th, respectively. Southern Poise Dance Center strives to be a premier destination for dance training in the Theodore community.

First Week of Dance

August 18th-21st
Ballet or Pointe

Ballet or Pointe classes must wear any solid-colored leotard and pink tights. Ballet skirt is optional. Ballet and pointe shoes must be worn at all times. Ballet requires Light Pink Ballet shoes.

Tap

For acro, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop & tap classes: students may wear leotards, tank tops or crop tops with leggings or dance shorts. Tap requires Black Tap Shoes.

Hip-Hop

For acro, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop & tap classes: students may wear leotards, tank tops or crop tops with leggings or dance shorts. T-shirts and sweats are only worn for Hip-Hop. Hip-Hop requires clean sneakers.

Contemporary

For acro, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop & tap classes: students may wear leotards, tank tops or crop tops with leggings or dance shorts. Lyrical/Contemporary requires Tan Half Soles.

Lyrical

For acro, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop & tap classes: students may wear leotards, tank tops or crop tops with leggings or dance shorts. Lyrical/Contemporary requires Tan Half Soles.

Jazz
