Alaska Dance Theatre

Classes are designed to develop rhythm, style, and sound. Exercises focus on flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. Emphasis is on developing proper technique, producing clear tap sounds and having fun!

Designed to introduce fundamental modern techniques, such as rhythm, level and direction changes, floor work, and improvisation. As a student progresses, they will experience other styles of dance combined with modern techniques.

Jazz and Broadway focus on learning proper dance technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns.

Explore the joy of movement through the elements of space, time and energy. This class introduces musicality, movement, coordination, balance, and basic kinetic skills for your little one, while also providing parents easy and effective fitness exercises.

Designed to increase flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, spatial and kinesthetic awareness; this class challenges dancers with the technique of acrobatics.

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements.

Alaska Dance Theatre dancers are exposed to a variety of classical ballet styles to create a well rounded dancer more capable of adapting to today's competitive dance industry. Training includes Vaganova and Cecchetti, and emphasizes teaching students proper technique in a highly structured environment. From beginning to pre-professional levels, the curriculum is designed to progress and challenge students of all ages. ADT welcomes guest artists who teach other ballet styles to our school frequently.
