Classes
Tap or Jazz
Whether it’s tap or jazz, you deserve a class too! Jazz classes will begin with easy stretches and basic technique so that you move through space effectively and safely. Tap classes will get those toes tapping with ease to make beautiful music with your feet. These classes will be built on those who sign up.
Adult Ballet class
Our Adult Ballet class offers a warm, encouraging environment for dancers of all levels of experience. Whether you’re returning to the barre after years away or stepping into ballet for the very first time, we will be here to help you every step of the way. This class follows a traditional ballet structure, all tailored to accommodate a range of abilities and fitness levels.
Conditioning class
Our Conditioning class is designed to build strength, flexibility, stamina, and alignment; key foundations for all styles of dance. Boys Classes
Our Boys Class is a high-energy, technique-focused class designed specifically for young male dancers. By instructor invitation only, this class is offered at no cost to enrolled ballet students. Boys will focus on strength, agility, and male-specific ballet technique in a supportive environment that encourages growth, discipline, and camaraderie.
Variations Classes
Variations class is open to Ballet Levels 6 and 7 and offers advanced students the opportunity to learn and refine iconic repertoire from classical ballets. Dancers will study the stylistic nuances, performance quality, and technical demands of solo variations, preparing them for auditions, stage work, and higher-level ballet opportunities.
Partnering Classes
Our Partnering class is reserved for Level 7 ballet students who are ready to take their classical training to the next level. Dancers will learn the foundational techniques of pas de deux, including weight sharing, balance, lifts, and coordinated movement.
Pointe Classes
Pointe class is offered to Ballet Levels 5 through 7 and is available at the discretion of the instructor. Students will continue to refine classical ballet technique while learning the foundations of pointe work, with an emphasis on safety and proper progression.
Music Theatre Tap and Jazz Classes
Expanding our dance program, we are introducing Music Theatre Tap and Jazz Classes. These classes combine storytelling with the fundamentals of jazz dance, perfect for exploring classic technique with a mischievous approach.
Jazz/Tap
Ms. Hailey Barrows will be instructing beginner level Tap/Jazz classes, providing students with a strong foundation for their artistic journeys.
Jazz/Contemporary Dance
Mrs. Morgan Rose-Johnson joins us to teach Jazz/Contemporary Dance. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to our dance program.
Stretch and Strength
Designed especially for dancers who want to gain flexibility and control. Stretch and Strength provides the extra cardio, muscle development, and cross-training students need to prevent injuries, continue on pointe, and excel in their dance classes.
Jazz & Tap (Levels 3-7)
Pre-Professional Dancers Level 3+ have the opportunity to train in Jazz and Tap. This class focuses on rhythm, musicality, and movement execution. Influenced by Broadway, dancers learn lively, high-energy choreography that challenges their technique. Training in a variety of dance styles create skilled, adaptable, and well-rounded dancers. This class requires a high level of ballet.
Contemporary
Contemporary is a blend of classical and modern styles with a solid ballet foundation. Students explore improvisation, expression, story-telling, and movement dynamics through exercises and choreography. Contemporary technique focuses on spatial and body awareness, use of body weight, floor work, leaps, and turns. This class requires a high level of ballet proficiency.
PPD Ballet Level 6/7 (Ballet, Pointe, Conditioning, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap)
Levels 6 and 7 are designed for advanced ballet students who have shown proficiency in technique, pointe work, and have the capacity to execute complex choreography. Students train a minimum of 6 hours a week in Ballet, Pointe, Conditioning, Contemporary, Jazz, and Tap. Choreography class provides an in depth opportunity to learn and perfect dances.
Level 5 (Ballet technique, Stretch and Strength, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, Pointe)
Level 5 is designed for students who have gained a solid technical foundation and knowledge of ballet. Students take one-and-a-half-hour ballet technique classes two times a week, in addition to Stretch and Strength, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and Pointe. Musicality and artistry are promoted through choreography and learning classical ballet variations. Participation in Dance Showcases is required.
PPD Ballet Level 4 (Ballet technique, Stretch and Strength, Pre-Pointe, Contemporary)
Students advanced to Level 4 based on their ability to execute technique properly. In addition to ballet technique, dancers partake in a variety of classes to advance their training. Stretch and Strength class provides dance conditioning. Pre-Pointe is introduced, and students may be promoted to pointe at teacher’s discretion. Dancers take Contemporary to develop expression.

Ballet Curriculum Level 3A and Level 3B
Level 3 of our Ballet Curriculum is now designated into two tracks: Level 3A and Level 3B. This new labeling allows for clearer communication and placement as students progress at an appropriate and individualized pace. Participation in Dance Showcases is required.

Our Music Theatre Jazz Classes combine the beauty of storytelling with fundamentals of jazz dance. It is a perfect way to combine classic technique with amore mischievous approach. Our Pre-Professional Division is designed to equip growing artists with a working knowledge of classical ballet technique in a nurturing, safe environment that enables each student to reach their individual dance goals. For an older beginner, ages 13+, who wishes to learn ballet at an accelerated pace. This class follows a traditional ballet format consisting of barre, center exercises, and across the floor. Students are taught to understand fundamental ballet placement, posture, and technique.

Tap & Jazz – Ages 7+
This upbeat combination class gives students an opportunity to learn two different styles in a 45 minute session. Ideal for beginners, dancers are introduced to rhythm, tempo and musicality in Tap, while building skills and foundations in Jazz. Combination classes are a great way to discover the dance styles you enjoy most.
Ballet Level 2
Ballet for this age group reinforces the concepts learned in Ballet 1, and introduces the students into the traditional ballet class format of barre followed by center exercises. Students develop their understanding of ballet alignment, and develop strength and flexibility needed for ballet.
Ballet Level 1
Beginning ballet technique and terminology are introduced. Students learn correct ballet placement, musicality and grace, as well as build strength and flexibility. Class consists of floor exercises, traveling across the room, and occasional barre work. These ballet fundamentals equip the student to progress to Ballet 2 with a knowledge of the basics.
Pre-Ballet
Preschool aged students are introduced to ballet in a fun and inviting atmosphere. Dancers learn basic ballet technique, musicality, and coordination, all through creative storytelling and imaginative play. Ballet class etiquette is introduced to develop self-confidence and discipline in the dancer, all while fostering their love for ballet.

Summer Intensive
Kat’s Classical Ballet offers a one-week intensive training program every July geared towards serious ballet students ages 12 – 18 who have a passion for dance and are ready to achieve a new level of artistic excellence. Over the course of the week, students will train under Kat’s Artist Tree Dance Director, Bonnie Calvert, Kat’s Artist Tree faculty members, and other renowned guest teachers. Our classes provide high caliber training in a creative and artistic environment.
