Ballet 2
Ballet 2 is a continuation of Ballet 1. Previous ballet instruction is required, and student readiness is subject to instructor approval during the first weeks of class. This class will continue in learning ballet skills, technique, etiquette, and combos. Emphasis on turnout of the feet and hips, more intricate barre exercises and center combos, jumps, leaps, turns, flexibility, and ballet terminology. NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Then $60/month will be set-up during your first month of dance. If your initial registration and first month is the same month, both fees will be due within that first month.
Ballet High School & Adult
Have you ever wanted to take a ballet class, but wondered if beginner classes for older dancers even exist? They do! This class will teach and refine technique, turnout, and flexibility with increased emphasis on barre exercises, jumps, turns and balance along with a combo at the end of class. All levels welcome! Whether you are a beginner who has always wanted to take ballet or a seasoned dancer. NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Then $60/month will be set-up during your first month of dance. If your initial registration and first month is the same month, both fees will be due within that first month.
Hip Hop 1A - JUST ADDED!!
Designed for dancers in grades 4-6, this class will explore essential Hip Hop moves including popping, locking, krumping, and waving. We’ll focus on developing your style and mastering the fundamentals in a positive, encouraging environment with uplifting lyrics and age appropriate movements. NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Then $84/month will be set-up during your first month of dance. Jazz 1
This Jazz class uses animated expressions and sharp, yet fluid, motions to upbeat music. This beginner class will give students the basic intro steps of jazz including jazz squares, isolations, chaine turns, spotting, basic leaps, and jumps. NOTE: Enrollment in Ballet I or II is required for participation in this class. NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Jazz 2
Jazz 2 pairs powerful movements and dramatic style with upbeat and fun music. This is a great beginner/intermediate class that will introduce dancers to the exciting world of Jazz skills and expression. There will be an increased emphasis on Jazz steps and combinations, reinforcing technique, spotting with turns and isolation, and more intricate combinations. Students will begin to incorporate more complicated arm movements with footwork combinations. NOTE: Enrollment in Ballet I or II and one year of previous dance experience is required for participation in this class. Student readiness is subject to instructor approval during the first weeks of class. Drawing from strong ballet technique, flexibility, and the dancer’s strength, Modern Dance creates beautiful stories and exciting shapes that help the viewer experience the feelings involved in the music. Modern 2
Modern 2 builds on the skills, form, and visual storytelling learned in Level 1. Enrollment in Ballet I or II and one year of previous dance experience is required for participation in this class. This class is perfect for experienced dancers or dancers who are ready for a faster paced program with higher impact movements and sounds. We will focus on rhythms and various tap techniques while exploring the history and nuances of tap dancing. Tap provides a fantastic opportunity to strengthen and tone legs, hips, and core muscles, but also benefits coordination and brain functioning. This class will include more advanced movements and faster patterns. All ages and levels are welcome! NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Tap 1
Tap I is an extension of the lessons learned in Ballet and Tap I Combo, but is also appropriate for a beginning tap student. Students will learn the basics of rhythm, balance, and weight distribution while also beginning to understand tap as a dance discipline. Tappers will learn the most common basic tap dance steps along with fun moves that create unique sounds and patterns. This class will emphasize that the body is not only a dancer, but also an instrument! NOTE: A one-time $99 fee is due at initial registration. Then $84/month will be set-up during your first month of dance. If your initial registration and first month is the same month, both fees will be due within that first month.
Tap 3
Tap 3 is a continuation of Tap 2. Previous tap instruction is required and student readiness is subject to instructor approval during the first weeks of class. Older students who would like to begin tap, or those who are deemed not ready for Tap 3 should inquire about private lessons to gain the technique and skills necessary for participation in this class. Dancers should come to class with strong understanding of the fundamentals of tap and with a desire to learn and grow as a tapper. The class will explore multiple styles of tap and deeper study into the different tap disciplines. Students will gain greater complexity of skills and rhythms while also learning more advanced patterns and sounds. Students will apply skills learned to creating their own unique choreography and style while also gaining a deeper appreciation of the history of tap.
