Classes

Leaps & Turns

This class focuses on jazz technique of flexibility, strength, and skills like pas de bouree turns, pirouette turns, fouette and a la seconde turns, grand jete leaps, axels, disk leaps, switch leaps and progressions across the floor. A foundation of ballet training is suggested but not required to take this class.

This class focuses on ballet and jazz technique of flexibility, strength, and skills like chaine and pirouette turns, saut de chat leaps, stag leaps, side leaps, grand battements and leg grab holds, and progressions across the floor. Int. Ballet Technique

This is a purely technique class meant to help dancers perfect their body positioning, turnout, balance, flexibility, strength and knowledge of ballet terminology. A higher level of training is expected for intermediate technique as combinations at the barre are more difficult. Most of class is spent at the barre where instructors are able to give dancers personal attention.

Beg. Ballet Technique

This is a purely technique class meant to teach dancers correct body positioning, improve turnout, work on balance, flexibility, strength and knowledge of ballet terminology. Most of class is spent at the barre where instructors are able to give dancers personal attention. No previous experience is required.

Ballet/Tap

This is a beginner-level introduction to ballet and tap. Half of the class is spent on each style where very basic steps and terminology are taught. Tap shoes are required. No previous experience is required.

Int. Ballet/Jazz

This is a moderate-level class that focuses on more specific ballet and across the floor technique training. Half of the class is spent on each style. No previous experience is required.

Beg. Ballet/Jazz

This is a beginner-level introduction to ballet and jazz. Half of the class is spent on each style where very basic steps and terminology are taught. No previous experience is required.

Int/Adv. Acro

This class focuses on building strength and learning new skills such as handsprings, tucks and aerials for students who already have previous experience in acro.

Beg. Acro

Beginning acro focuses on coordination, individual strength, balance, flexibility for students to learn progressions and build their skills, including cartwheels, chin stands, shoulder stands, handstands, headstands, backbend variations.

Hip Hop

This is a fun, high energy dance class for dancers for all levels. No previous experience is required. Students will learn various hip hop moves, isolations and choreography set to age appropriate hip hop music.

Adv. Tap/Company

This is an advanced-level class that requires previous tap knowledge and experience. This class is meant to challenge tap dancers with new steps and combos as well as teaching dancers new skills such as wings.

Int. Tap

This is a moderate-level class that builds on skills from beginning tap. More difficult steps such as riffs, pull backs, buffaloes and time steps are taught and some previous experience is required.

Beg. Tap

This is a beginning-level class that introduces basic tap steps such as shuffles, flaps and ball changes to dancers. No previous experience is required.

Int. Contemporary

This is a higher level class that challenges dancers with unique and expressive choreography. Dancers are expected to keep up with instructors and some previous ballet training is encouraged though not required.

Adv. Lyrical

This is an advanced-level class for students interested in dancing at a more mature level. Students will perfect body control as well as muscle strength and coordination.

Beg. Lyrical

This is a beginning-level class for students interested in learning how to gain control with their dancing and begin to use more fluid movements. Dancers will learn body control as well as muscle strength and coordination.

Adv. Jazz

This is an advanced-level class that challenges dancers with unique and expressive choreography. More advanced technique and choreography such as leg extensions, pas de bouree turns, pirouette turns, fouette and a la seconde turns, grand jete leaps, axels, disk leaps and switch leaps will be taught by instructors. Dancers are expected to keep up with technical moves and have some previous training.

Int. Jazz

This is a moderate-level class that continues to build on knowledge learned from other classes. No previous experience is required but dancers will work on skills like chaine and pirouette turns, saut de chat leaps, stag leaps, side leaps, grand battements and leg grab holds, and progressions across the floor.

Beg. Jazz

This is beginning-level class, no previous experience is required. Basic technique and choreography will be taught by instructors and skills like jazz walks, chaine turns, pirouette turns, saut de chat leaps and battements will be introduced.

Pointe

This is only a class for students who have previous ballet experience. Pointe shoes are required and students are responsible for replacing their shoes when necessary. This class is focused on teaching students to dance on pointe correctly, and instructors will work with students personally. It is up to teacher discretion when a student is ready to start pointe based on their ballet technique and experience.

Adv. Ballet

This is an advanced-level class that requires previous ballet knowledge and experience, and is good for dancers wishing to go on Pointe. Dancers will be challenged and are expected to know terminology and be aware of their own turnout and flexibility in order to improve each week. The first half of class is spent at the barre learning extensive technique, while the second half consists of across the floor and choreography.
