About Alameda Ballet Academy

Alameda Ballet Academy, located in Alameda, California, has been a distinguished institution dedicated to fostering a deep love and understanding of classical ballet since its founding in 2003. Led by Artistic Director Abra Rudisill, a former Prima Ballerina and Ballet Mistress with the Oakland Ballet, the academy offers exceptional ballet training for dancers of all ages and levels, from "Dance With Me" classes for the youngest to advanced pointe work. While classical ballet is the core discipline, Alameda Ballet Academy also aims to nurture well-rounded artists by exposing students to other dance forms and broader artistic development, encompassing elements of choreography, dance history, and performance. The curriculum follows a traditional academic year with thoughtful class placement and regular evaluations to support student advancement. Beyond regular instruction, engaging summer camps and classes are available. Performance is a crucial part of a dancer's education, with annual productions like The Nutcracker and their Spring Recital providing vital opportunities to cultivate discipline, teamwork, stage presence, and artistic expression. The academy also supports its older students through a Student Teacher Assistant Program, fostering leadership and mentoring. A supportive community and parental involvement are key to bringing productions to life. Families enrolling in monthly tuition programs are eligible for a sibling discount of 10% off for a second child (only one discount per family; tuition is not prorated). For inquiries, please reach out via email, as class schedules are released with enrollment openings.
