Tutu School Brentwood

In the Primary Ballet Prep division we develop pure, fundamental ballet technique that will eventually allow our students to graduate to a more disciplined study of the craft – when their growing bodies are ready. In the meantime, we’ll continue to practice our pliés with a healthy helping of magical fun, thank you.

Classes in our Exploring Ballet division strike a perfect balance between structure and creativity. In this division we begin carefully laying the earliest foundation of ballet technique, but we always compliment our class work with fun, imaginative activities that keep young dancers captivated, engaged, and utterly in love with ballet.

Our goal in our Tutu Toddlers division is to work with you to engage your little one and give them an early experience with ballet they’ll never forget. Because at Tutu School we believe that exposing children at a very early age to creativity, movement, and music can only lead to good things. The core purpose of Tutu Toddlers classes is to get little ones in a room with music and movement, and to give them space to fall in love with both! Tutu Toddlers are discovering all of the wonderful things their little, growing bodies can do. Exploring new ways of moving through dance stories and games builds both coordination and confidence. We never expect Tutu Toddlers to come to Tutu School knowing how to take a class, share props, or take turns – that's a part of what we get to start learning together!

Ballet for babies? We’re so glad you asked. It’s never too early to expose little ones to movement and music, and Baby Ballet is a carefully curated curriculum for infants aged 6-18 months, with lots of opportunities to foster both caregiver bonding and age-appropriate development.

Primary Ballet Prep is for children aged 5 to 8 years old, providing a foundational ballet technique progression suitable for more advanced study.

Exploring Ballet is a class for children aged 3 to 5 years old, focusing on introducing fundamental ballet techniques and movement through imaginative play.

Tutu Toddlers is a class for children aged 18 months to 3 years old, involving caregiver participation to foster early movement and socialization.

Baby Ballet is designed for the youngest dancers, aged 6 to 18 months old, and includes caregiver participation to encourage bonding and shared movement experiences.

Building upon foundational ballet skills, this class focuses on developing grace, posture, and musicality for students ready for more structured instruction.

This class introduces fundamental ballet techniques and positions to young children, fostering creativity and discipline through engaging activities and classical music.

A playful ballet class designed for toddlers to explore movement, rhythm, and imagination through storytelling and dance. Encourages social interaction and develops coordination.

The first introduction to ballet for the youngest dancers, exploring movement and music in a fun and engaging way. Focuses on building foundational motor skills and a love for dance.

Students in our youngest divisions are invited to wear any clothes that they can move easily in, and should take class with bare feet or rubber-soled socks if they do not have ballet slippers. Adults participating in these classes should also wear comfortable clothes and bare feet or rubber-soled socks.

Tutu School asks students in its older divisions to wear leotards or fitted shirts with tights or leggings and ballet slippers. Please tuck in all drawstrings on slippers, and secure long hair away from the face as much as possible. No specific color or style of dancewear is required, and tutus and skirts are absolutely permitted – naturally!

On any given day at Tutu Camp, a child might take a ballet class, decorate costumes, learn the story of a famous ballet, or even take part in a production of their own creation. Many of our camp sessions focus on a different ballet story from the classical repertoire, and favorites include: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird, and Cinderella. Campers do not need to have prior ballet experience to participate, but they should be prepared for a lot of leaping, twirling, and imaginative adventures!

An immersive camp experience where children can engage in ballet classes, costume design, ballet storytelling, and even create their own productions.

Join Miss Kennedy and Miss Noelle for our Nutcracker Camp at Tutu School Brentwood on Monday, December 22nd from 9:00am-12:00pm. Camp is for dancers aged 3-8 years old and is open to all, no active membership or dance experience is required to join. We hope to see you there!
