Beginning Tap

Ballet

Dancers will continue to progress through our six levels of ballet, attending class multiple times per week. Students will explore a large variety of classical ballet terminology, enabling them to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance.

Broadway Jazz

This level is for beginning and intermediate dancers who would like to develop jazz skills such as understanding choreography, musicality, and turns. It is recommended for current ISB students in Level 3, Level 4, Level 5, Level 6, and Teen Ballet or new students ages 8 and up.

Snazzy Jazzy Hip Hop

Intended for little dancers ages 4 to 6, this class provides students with the experience in both hip hop and jazz. Children spend half of the class learning fundamentals in each style. For jazz, children work on developing their movement and flexibility.

Twirl Lilac

Intended for little dancers ages 3 to 5, this class provides students with experience in both ballet and tap. Children spend half of the class learning fundamentals in each style. For tap, children work on developing rhythms through a combination of toe and heel footwork.

Broadway Tap

This level is for performers with prior experience who would like to improve their dance skills by working on tap rhythms, jazz choreography, flexibility, speed, styling, musicality, and footwork. It is recommended for new and current MT@ISB students.

Whether you've danced before or this is your first time setting foot in a studio, ISB's Adult program is a great fit for students ages 18 and up to work on improving their ballet technique and fitness.

Academy

ISB’s Academy program offers classes for students ages 7 and up who are serious about dancing. Students will work towards building flexibility, strength, musicality, coordination, concentration, and communication of expression through movement.

Introductory

Intended for students ages 7 and up who are interested in dancing recreationally, ISB's Introductory program explores a large variety of classical ballet terminology, enabling them to adapt to all styles and techniques of dance.

Twirl

Perfect for students ages 18 months to 7 years old, ISB’s unique Twirl program promotes creativity and imagination while ensuring a solid foundation of dance technique.

MINI MUSICAL THEATER

Young performers will be able to discover the world of musical theatre and begin to build their tap repitoir. Come join us to build confidence and express yourself! This introductory course is intended to teach the basics of theatre through creative play using curriculum based on K-3rd grade standards. Simple vocal exercises will be added where they will know how to safely warm up and project. They will learn choreography numbers with TA guidance and start to understand concepts like musicality. Goal is for them to think creatively and on the spot (improv) with movement, dialogue, and vocals. Most importantly we hope that they will build confidence to perform and learn to love the stage.

Beginning/Intermediate Contemporary

Intended for beginning & intermediate students as an introduction to the genre. Students work on using their imagination and emotions to inspire creative movement. This class is perfect for current ISB students in our Level 3 and Level 4 or for new students ages 8 to 13.

Saturdays 2:30PM - 3:30PM
Intermediate/Advanced Contemporary

This level continues building on the foundations learned in Beginning/Intermediate Contemporary. It is intended for current ISB students in Level 4A- thru Level 5.

Thursdays 5:30PM - 6:30PM
Advanced Contemporary

This level is for advanced dancers that have a firm grasp of the foundations to continue to develop their emotiveness, creativity, and experience as artists and choreographers. It is intended for current ISB students in Level 6 & Level 7 or for new students with 3+ years of experience.

JUNIOR MUSICAL THEATER

Students must be able to read. Begin exploring more musical theatre technical skills within dancing, singing, and acting. Goal is to build towards triple threat skills and prepare them for what auditions are like at MT@ISB. Will explore other audition/show processes to help teach students how to be flexible. For signing they will build towards 2 part harmonies. For dancing they will be able to do a routine with minimal to zero assistance. For acting they will explore simple monologues. Creative play will still be encouraged but will be covering more curriculum based material.

TRIPLE THREAT 1 TRAINING

Beginning to intermediate levels of MT. Dive deeper into the world of MT with theatrical literacy, etiquette, performance and more. Build towards becoming a real triple threat performer and continue working on beginning through intermediate performer skills. If you are new to the MT program and fall within this age range, we welcome you to try a class. Our instructors are here to support your growth and development. Vocally continue to work towards two part harmonies. Refine your acting and improvisational abilities in preparation for auditions and productions. Broaden your expertise in dance with MT dance and jazz. The tap class for this group is continued through an elective course on a separate day and time. We also encourage triple threat performers to take ballet and contemporary classes to supplement dance training.

TRIPLE THREAT 2 TRAINING

Intermediate to advanced levels of MT. If you are new to the MT program and fall within this age range, we welcome you to try a class. Our instructors are here to support your growth and development. Vocally continue to work towards two part harmonies. Refine your acting and improvisational abilities in preparation for auditions and productions. Broaden your expertise in dance with MT dance and jazz. The tap class for this group is continued through an elective course on a separate day and time. Advance levels of MT. The Triple Threat Troupe is the MT@ISB touring group, where they will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in performances throughout the community. Vocally continue to work with 3 to 5 part harmonies. Enhance dancing and acting skills, refining the concept of being "prepared for auditions"

Flexibility/Stengthen

Intended for dancers who have never taken a flexibility class before, this course will allow students to safely increase their flexibility aptitude through a series of stretch and strength building exercises. This class is open to current ISB students in Open, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4A/B Ballet or new students ages 8 and up.
