Napa Regional Dance Co, located in Napa, California, has been a cornerstone of dance education for the Napa Valley's youth for 37 years, established in 1988 by Janet Mangiaracina and Wanda Martin McGill. Specializing in Classical Ballet, utilizing the Vaganova style, and Contemporary dance, NRDC offers a comprehensive curriculum for individuals aged five through adult, operating year-round six days a week. The ballet program ranges from pre-ballet to advanced levels, while contemporary classes, blending modern ballet and lyrical styles with techniques from ballet, modern, and jazz, are available to students who have completed Level 3 ballet and are enrolled in a ballet course. Advanced contemporary dancers at an intermediate ballet level or higher, requiring concurrent ballet study, also have dedicated classes. The studio boasts a distinguished faculty with professional dance backgrounds, including Executive Director Wanda Martin McGill, Artistic Director/Ballet Mistress Erin Leedom (former Principal Dancer with Oakland Ballet), and Master Teacher Lauren Jonas (co-founder and Artistic Director of Diablo Ballet). Summer Guest Faculty have included accomplished professional dancers Jordan Hammond and Erin Yarbrough-Powell. These instructors bring extensive experience and specialized training, guiding students to excel. NRDC provides exceptional professional training and performance opportunities, exemplified by involvement in productions like 'The Nutcracker' and 'Spring Showcase.' The company features a rigorous Apprentice Program for exceptionally skilled dancers, involving auditions and demanding weekly technique classes in both contemporary and classical ballet, alongside choreography opportunities. Students can pursue pre-professional training programs and collegiate dance studies. Napa Regional Dance Company offers a year-round curriculum and a six-week summer intensive program, attracting students nationwide.
