Founded in 2017 by co-founders and professional therapists Angelica Medina and Jahaira Fajardo, the studio is dedicated to fostering a safe and affirming environment for all, particularly for Queer, Trans, and LGBTQS+ individuals. Their teaching methodology, the In Lak'ech Method™, deeply woven with a passion for transformative justice, utilizes dance for healing, self-care, and community empowerment. In Lak'ech offers a diverse array of dance styles including Bachata, Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, and Belly Dance, alongside Ballroom, Contemporary, Flamenco, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tap, and Zumba. Students can engage through weekly drop-in classes, comprehensive Training Series that delve into fundamental techniques, body movement, musicality, and partner work across structured levels from Beginner to Advanced, or private sessions tailored to individual goals. The studio actively promotes community and connection, exemplified by events like Queer Sabor. Angelica & Jahaira's expertise extends to competitive success, having won the World Latin Dance Cup twice as the first female-led couple.
