Classes

Jazz and Hip Hop Class

Jazz is a versatile dance style characterized by dynamic quality and muscle isolations. Jazz combines the basic techniques of ballet with the modern steps of pop and broadway/musical theater. Dancers develop balance, body control, strength, and flexibility in order to build technical skills for jumping, leaping, and turning. Hip Hop is a high energy class, mixing fundamental technique with imaginative freedom. This class will allow children to better understand their movement through body isolations, as well as expand their knowledge and creativity through improvisation. Children will learn to count music, memorize choreography, and perform fast and intricate movement. Closed toed shoes are required for this class.

Tap Class

Tap is a percussive style of dance that teaches rhythm, musicality, and timing through movements of the feet. Dancers will develop balance and coordination, with an emphasis on performance quality. Tap shoes are required for this class. Class will be tailored to fit dancers at varying levels of experience and technical proficiency.

Ballet Class

A classical dance form consisting of precise movements and body positions. Students who practice ballet develop correct posture, body alignment, grace, poise, and technical versatility. Skills gained from ballet will be used in all other forms of dance. Class will be tailored to fit dancers at varying levels of experience and technical proficiency.

Company Intensive

Dancers will learn proper warm up and audition technique to prepare for competition, as well as adjust to learning and perfecting choreography in a faster pace environment. This intensive is by invite only and is required for our dancers in our Company for the 25-26 dance season. Ballet, Jazz, Strength and Conditioning, and an additional dance style class will be Company requirements during our 25-26 dance season, along with a weekly Company class. Tap class is also strongly encouraged. It is recommended to enroll in the coordinating Classes during our Summer Session.

Hip Hop Elevate Class

Hip Hop is a high energy class, mixing fundamental technique with imaginative freedom. This class will allow children to better understand their movement through body isolations, as well as expand their knowledge and creativity through improvisation. Children will learn to count music, memorize choreography, and perform fast and intricate movement. Closed toed shoes are required for this class. Pre-requisite: Hip Hop Foundations 2, or equivalent experience. Students are strongly encouraged to also enroll in a jazz class/clinic during our Summer Session.

Dancers develop flexibility and strength, by working on balancing, limbering, tumbling, and partnering as the Acrobatic Arts syllabus is taught. Dancers will learn to blend musicality, expression, line, and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. Need teacher permission to register. Pre-requisite: Acro-Foundations 2 or equivalent experience. Students must also be enrolled in a ballet class/clinic during our Summer Session.

Mini Movers Ballet & Tap Class

Now separate 45 minute classes! Consists of either ballet or tap styles, or create your own combo and take them back to back. Students will engage in simple exercises to develop balance, coordination, body strength, and dance technique. This class works on the foundation of a strong, well rounded dancer, while preparing them for our longer classes once basic skills are developed.

Students must also be enrolled in a Modern/Contemporary class, as well as Ballet 5, simultaneously.

Our Elite program is for highly committed dancers who want to advance their skills at a faster rate. Dancers take multiple classes and dance styles per week, and choose dance as their main activity. Classes encompass complete education of the dancer, including health and wellness, injury prevention, and preparing to dance beyond our studio. Our Mini Movers program is made for beginner dancers, as well as those that want to continue working on their skills and prepare for our Foundations program. We offer classes for beginners, as well as classes that continue to grow dancers moving up from our Tiny Dancers program.
