Dance To EvOLvE at Carmel Valley Rec Center

Sweats, leggings, and t-shirts are great…wear clothes that you can easily move in and are appropriate when dancing and doing floor work. (Shorts and skirts can be a challenge.) Long hair should be pulled back in a ponytail. Sneakers that tie or won’t come off feet. Barefoot, clogs, crocs, sandals, flip flops or socks just won’t work.

Dancers can choose to follow the above dress code for our other combo classes or they can choose to wear the hip hop dress code. Sneakers that won’t come off the feet for hip hop and appropriate dance shoes. (ie: Ballet or tap shoes depending on class style)

Our dress code is simply “dance attire” and is designed to be fun, safe and appropriate for the learning environment. There is not a specific style or color required. Long hair needs to be pulled back. We ask that tiny tots’ dance clothes are only worn for dance class so that the young dancer understands that they are coming to dance class and not an unstructured play time. Leotards, tights, leggings, and tutus all add to the fun. Or Clean solid-colored sweatpants or jazz pants and a fitted t-shirt are great. Ballet and tap shoes are needed for all tap & ballet combo classes. Any shoe color is allowed during class but if you would like to plan ahead to the annual spring showcase, black tap shoes are requested for all dancers and pink ballet shoes for female-identifying costumes and black ballet shoes for male-identifying costumes.

I also wanted to let you know how much we absolutely loved the recital. It was so well done and so much fun. Having the teachers dance at the end was a fun surprise and we really enjoyed that! My daughter started taking classes with EvOLvE in April and this is her first experience with dance. We adore Miss Jenny and she is so wonderful with the girls. Thank you for making her first dance recital such a wonderful experience for her. She’s still doing her tap dance all over the house!

Her teacher was absolutely wonderful! She is bright, sweet, encouraging yet strict. All the girls were having a great time! If you’re looking for a hard core competitive dance class for your child this is not for you but if you want something easy and fun then sign up! Prices are very reasonable too!

Since then, my daughter has been taking a Tiny Movers class for almost a year now (tap/ballet combo) and she absolutely loves it! Miss Amy is an AWESOME teacher! She is very knowledgeable about dance and makes the classes fun, age-appropriate, and encouraging for the kids. We’ve done a few makeup classes also and all the other teachers we encountered were so friendly, professional, and great with the kids. The company makeup policy is very flexible, which was so helpful when we had to miss class due to illness or travel. My daughter recently participated in her first recital and it was SO GREAT! The dances were eclectic, the costumes were top-notch, the price was reasonable, and the kids seemed to have a great time! Overall, we have LOVED our experience with Dance to EvOLvE and plan to continue classes this summer and fall and beyond. My daughter is constantly playing ‘I’m Ms. Sara and you’re taking my dance class.’ She uses all the terms she has learned– passé, arabesque, heel-toe, etc. and leads her little sister, her dad and myself in a class, helping us out if we are doing a move incorrectly. She even gives us a sticker on our hand and a hug when ‘class’ is over. :-)

My daughter is 2.5 and the ballet/tap class was exactly what I was looking for! Short (45min), simply and fun! Her teacher was absolutely wonderful! She is bright, sweet, encouraging yet strict. All the girls were having a great time! If you’re looking for a hard core competitive dance class for your child this is not for you but if you want something easy and fun then sign up! Prices are very reasonable too!
