Introducing—APARTMENT: Beginner House Dance Battle on 2/24!!! Str8jacket is so excited to announce our newest jam, APARTMENT. This event is created for beginner House Dancers to help keep the Bay Area House Dance community thriving. If you’re a baby House Dancer, this is a great way to gain battle experience and connect with the House Dance community!

Starting a House Dance class at CY Danceworks every Tuesday this summer! It will be followed by CY Open Session to keep the celebration going or practice what you’ve learned.

Special Pop Up Workshop: Waacking Workshop by Fred Mayor We’ve got @fredmayor757 teaching W❤️acking at @cydanceworks! Fred Mayor (he/they) is an Artist Athlete who uses the art of Punking/Whacking/Waacking to create from authenticity, build community and empower students to live freely in the movement/moment.

Jazzrock Dance is a style of dance that started in the late 1970s, mainly in Paris, France. It combines jazz, rock, funk, and soul music with unique footwork and movements. The focus is on being smooth, impactful, and having a good sense of rhythm. Jazzrock Dance includes lively footwork like quick steps, slides, spins, and jumps. It also uses hip movements and body isolations to create visually appealing and expressive dance moves. Jazzrock Dance is known for its energetic and stylish fusion of different dance styles and music genres. It incorporates elements from tap dance, Afro, juggling, salsa, and a dance from Martinique called Bèlè. The dance style heavily relies on the hips, feet, body balance, and rhythm, and involves a lot of floor contact. It's a cool and classy dance style with a gentlemanly touch.
