Adaptive Dance

Dance Expressions is an inclusive program with an adaptive curriculum, which provides children a therapeutic dance experience. Students are given the tools for a successful exploration of dance while being in a safe environment. Students will gain increased body awareness, develop fundamental motor skills, improve self-esteem, concentration and focus, and have fun expressing themselves creatively.

After-School Ballet

Our free onsite after-school and summer dance classes provide dedicated dance exposure to students in underserved populations who may not have access to traditional studios. Weekly classes introduce culturally inclusive styles with a focus in classical ballet technique and terminology.

Anti-Bullying Ballet Program

Our signature Anti-Bullying Ballet Program is a unique opportunity for educators to showcase solution oriented content with deeper focus on SEL components. These levels are applicable to every dance form offered at CCD, including Ballet , Jazz , Tap , Modern & Contemporary . If an experienced ballet dancer is taking jazz dance for the first time, the dancer should consider the “fundamental” level first, if that class is available.

Pointe Class

Students MUST first take a ballet class prior to taking a pointe class on the same day. We have scheduled a ballet class before every pointe class we offer, to make scheduling easy!

Intermediate Advanced

For dancers with at least 8 years of training, technical proficiency and a thorough understanding of the vocabulary.

Intermediate Student

For dancers with at least 5- 8 years of training, technical proficiency and a thorough understanding of the vocabulary and the appropriate alignment.

Advanced Beginner

For students with at least 3-5 years of training and have a good understanding of the appropriate alignment and terminology used in the class.

Beginner Student

For students who have 2 – 3 years of training in the dance form. Basic understanding of the appropriate alignment and general dance terminology recommended.

Fundamental Student

Designed for ages 18 and up, whether you’re a beginner exploring ballet fundamentals or an advanced dancer perfecting your pointe, modern, tap, or jazz techniques. Bharatanatyam Dance

In these classes, you’ll mainly learn Bharatanatyam , a famous Indian dance style. This dance has a history of over 2,000 years and is rich in stories, emotions, and spirituality. It combines storytelling, expression, and grace in every step. All levels of students, whether you’re new to dance or experienced, are welcome. Srivalli doesn’t just teach the dance steps. She helps you feel the deep emotions and stories behind each move. Her classes are a friendly place where you can discover Indian culture while enjoying the art of dance.

Classical Indian Dance

Nestled in the heart of Colorado, the Colorado Conservatory of Dance offers a unique chance to learn the art of Classical Indian Dance. Srivalli Sankaranarayanan, a well-known dancer and teacher, leads these classes. It’s an opportunity to get lost in the rhythms and graceful moves of India’s dance forms.

In Intro to Tap, your student will develop the basic body alignment for Tap dance and explore different movement qualities and rhythm for Tap dance.

Intro to Jazz

In Intro to Jazz, your student will develop the basic body alignment for Jazz dance and explore different movement qualities and rhythm for Jazz.

Intro to Ballet

In Intro to Ballet, your student will develop the basic body alignment for ballet and explore different movement qualities for ballet while dancing to different rhythms in ballet music.

Beginning Dance for Kids

This class uses a creative approach to guide the students to develop their own approaches to embody different qualities of dance while developing the basic body alignment that is often used in ballet and jazz classes. Students will also learn how to work with their peers in a supportive environment.

Skip, March, Gallop

Through improvisation games, students will exercise their creativity to explore different qualities of dance while learning how to dance to different music and working with their peers. Students will also explore basic positions of classical ballet.

Move2Learn

Our Move2Learn Cultural Series (M2L) is a bilingual program that focuses on promoting cultural inclusivity by celebrating the shared ancestry and traditions of our diverse community. Students learn history, dances, and songs across ten 45-60 minute classes that end in a culminating student body performance open to parents, families, and community.

Conservatory Training Program in Ballet

CCD’s Conservatory Training Program in Ballet offers 10 different levels of classes that are designed to develop dancers’ body alignment, core support, and understanding of rotation usage plus musicality that are required for classical ballet technique. Throughout this training program, students will also develop the understanding of how classical ballet was developed from the historical and cultural perspectives. In addition, CCD emphasizes anatomically appropriate training methods, process-based learning, and professional standards.
