Creative Dance
Prepares the young child for all forms of dance: teaches rhythm, coordination and use of energy; teaches the mind to perceive, understand and remember. As in all of our classes, but especially Little Stars and Creative Dance, structure is maintained through a consistent class format. The activities within each segment of the class time will change as the year progresses. However, the order in which activities are introduced remains the same. By maintaining a consistent class format, the child’s ability to predict their environment increases. With this increased predictability, the child’s level of anxiety decreases and sense of security increases. This is one basic way to decrease behavior problems in young children...let them know “what comes next.”
