About Mid East Performing Arts Academy

Mid East Performing Arts Academy, located in Miami, Florida, has been a cornerstone of authentic Middle Eastern dance since 1997. Founded by the internationally acclaimed Samay, the academy continues her legacy by offering a diverse and enriching dance experience, celebrating Egyptian-style and folklore-inspired belly dance traditions. Our curriculum immerses students in technique and choreography, exploring a wide spectrum of styles from ancient Egyptian wonders and the Sahara Desert to regional dances of the Levant and Arabian Gulf, and even Uyghur folk dance. We are proud to feature award-winning instructors dedicated to preserving and honoring the cultural richness of Arabic dance. Specializing in Egyptian styles, including Golden Era, classical, and modern, are Amara Sayid and Danna Yasbet, celebrated for her authentic technique. Master Instructor Jihan Jamal focuses on traditional, theatrical, and folkloric dances of Egypt. Kelly leads our youth troupe, 'The Gems,' while Maya Lamil, founder of Dance & Traditions, uniquely blends belly dance rhythms with Mayan Marimba. Beyond our core Middle Eastern offerings, we also provide foundational classical ballet training, enhancing our diverse curriculum and preparing students for performance.
