These dedicated dancers are placed by audition and range in age from 6 – 18. Competitive dancers spend each week in a combination of required technique classes and team rehearsals. Many competitors are also classroom assistants, are in training to be a junior teacher, attend a performing arts school or other serious training program, pursue national convention travel opportunities and more. Dancers participate in a high-energy warm up and across the floor/center combinations that include the latest movements in this popular style to age appropriate music.

Jazz

30 minute classes for children who are 9-10 (turning 10-11) that continue to build on the foundations of tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop. Dancers continue to learn the language of dance with an emphasis on musicality and presentation, and start to explore new limits of strength, coordination and flexibility! These dancers also begin to consider adding sTAr assistant opportunities to their training! A 45-minute class for dancers age 12-24 months (as of September 1 ) to enjoy with their caregivers (you don’t have to be a Mommy to join the fun!). Students will have fun singing songs and learning new moves, and each class utilizes props such as bean bags, scarves, and magic wands to hold attention and help with fine motor skills. We’ll bounce on the trampoline, jump in hula hoops, and chase bubbles, but best of all dancers spend priceless time socializing with peers and bonding with their caregiver!
