Orlando Dance Conservatory

Level 3BA and 4 advanced dancers have the opportunity to learn the foundational elements of how to partner properly. Pas De Deux class helps dancers increase body strength, gain confidence in the air, and communicate respectfully.

Variations are solos from classical ballets that require cardiac stamina, advanced technical skill, and artistic presentation. Variations often represent a character from a story and dancers may practice in a tutu to prepare them for onstage performances.

Dancers who are selected for pointe work, will have a beginner pointe class. Levels 3AB and 4 take portions of their weekly classes on pointe. Dancers will develop foot and ankle strength through repetitious exercises that prepare dancers to dance on their toes!

At ODC, the opportunity to begin wearing pointe shoes is by invite only. The Director will hand select students who are anatomically and technically ready to begin pointe shoes. As dancers progress in strength and skill, they will be able to participate in class “en pointe” and learn variations and pas de deux (partnering).

Level 4 is designed for advanced students. Classes focus on enhancing ballet technique, improving technical skill, moving with artistry and musicality, and mastering complicated movement combinations. Dancers will also practice pointe work, variations, and pas de deux as part of their weekly classes.

ODC emphasizes classical ballet training while encouraging versatility in other styles of movement. Dancers must be registered in a ballet class before taking these electives. Dancers Level 1A and up are required to take one elective, but are welcome to take more.

Orlando Dance Conservatory follows a classical ballet system for training based on Vaganova and French techniques. Level 3B/3A is designed for moderately advanced students. Classes focus on enhancing ballet technique, improving technical skill, moving with artistry and musicality, and mastering complicated movement combinations. Dancers will also practice pointe work, variations, and pas de deux as part of their weekly classes.

Level 1B/1A provides structured classes teaching the fundamental techniques of ballet and jazz to novice dancers. Class emphasis includes proper body alignment, dance vocabulary, and movement.

Pre Ballet 1 and 2 are designed for students ages 3 to 7 who are new to ballet. ODC follows a classical ballet system for training based on Vaganova and French techniques.
