Classes

Jazz

Jazz classes are combined with Teen Dance Team, offering an opportunity for growth. While not required, these classes are highly recommended for team members.

Ballet

Jazz/Tap II (age 5)

This is a developmental class containing Jazz and Tap. Dancers will continue to progress, preparing them for elementary school level classes. Dancers will be introduced to proper warm-ups, stretches, and vocabulary combined with across the floor progressions and mini combinations. This is an upbeat, fun, well-rounded introduction to dance for our young students.

Ballet/Tap II (age 4-5)

This is a developmental class containing Ballet and Tap. Dancers will continue to progress, preparing them for elementary school level classes. This involves more advanced movement and rhythms. We will also incorporate more barre work for Ballet. Engaging music and a positive fun environment is used to inspire these little ones to dance!

CORE BALLET COMPANY

Designed for the most dedicated ballet dancers, this company performs throughout the community, competes at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), participates in optional ballet festivals, and presents a winter show each season. Dancers are required to take appropriate ballet classes weekly (1–3 hours, depending on age) in addition to weekend rehearsals.

Elements- Sparks & Flames

Designed for the busy dancer, this team offers a competitive experience while allowing time for other activities. Dancers are required to take Ballet and Team Rehearsal each week (minimum 2 hours) and will attend 3 regional competitions alongside the Core Elements Performance Company (formally known as Core Dance Team).

ELEMENTS PERFORMANCE COMPANY

Our premier competitive dance company trains 4–9 hours per week, depending on age. Dancers attend 5 regional competitions each season, with optional conventions and Nationals every other year. Enrollment in the appropriate L.E.A.P. Track (based on age and level) is required. Tracks are color-coded on the schedule for easy reference.

CORE HIP-HOP CREW

Students on the Hip-Hop Crew are required to take at least one Hip-Hop class, with the option to add Acrobatics, in addition to scheduled rehearsals. They attend 3–5 competitions alongside the Core Elements Performance Company, competing exclusively in the Hip-Hop category.

FlexCon/JLT

Also known as Flexibility & Conditioning/Jumps, Leaps & Turns, this popular weekly class is designed to accelerate a dancer’s progress. The first half of class focuses on building strength and flexibility to enhance overall technique, while the second half emphasizes mastering jumps, turns, leaps, and “tricks.”

Contemporary

Aerial Lyrical classes are for both children and adults to develop strength, flexibility, and artistry while learning spins, balances, and dynamic poses on the aerial hoop. Tap

Tap is a form of dance by using the shoe as well as the floor, as a percussive instrument. Wearing specially-designed shoes with metal taps on the balls and heels of the foot, dancers will learn musicality, timing, syncopation, music theory, and how to create rhythms with their toes and heels.This class will focus on the basics and fundamentals of tap with basic footwork and progressions across the floor.

This class will feature a variety of Jazz styles.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance combines technical elements of Ballet and Jazz. Students will concentrate on freedom and fluidity of movement. Lyrical is influenced by the expressiveness and airier aspects of dance. Students are encouraged to explore emotion and individuality in dance through freestyle/improvisation and performance of lyrical choreography.
