Modern dance is rooted in the exploration of freedom in movement. Students will discover the principles of drop/suspend and contract release. The curriculum includes influences from Limon, Horton, Taylor, Cunningham and more. Students will gain of understanding of movement qualities along with mixed meter music. Students must be enrolled in ballet and have 3 years of ballet training.

Primary Dance (Ballet, Tap, and Jazz)

The focus in the primary level will be proper technique in the fundamental styles of Ballet, Tap and Jazz. This class will be an hour and a half long. Each week students will take 45 minutes of Ballet and 45 minutes of Jazz or Tap (alternating weekly). This will allow students to get the proper transition from a combination class to our upper level classes. We will guide students in these levels to focus on correct body placement and ensure they learn the structure of dance class in each style.

KinderCombo (Ballet & Jazz)

This class will consist of 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of jazz. This class is designed to build on ballet skills and terminology learned in previous classes while also introducing jazz concepts and skills. This is the perfect class to learn the very important techniques of ballet and jazz. Students will come to develop dance technique and vocabulary along with flexibility, coordination and confidence. This class promotes good listening skills, discipline skills, and self-esteem in an enriching environment!

KinderCombo (Ballet & Tap)

This class will consist of 30 minutes of ballet and 30 minutes of tap. This class is designed to build on ballet skills and terminology learned in previous classes while also introducing tap concepts and skills. Students will also explore movement, musicality, and rhythm. By teaching students these two foundational styles of dance students will have the building blocks they need to excel as they advance in their dance education. This class also utilizes time to allow students to move creatively and use their imagination to motivate their movement. This is essential to their exploration of dance and development of understanding how their body moves. We know these students will love this class created specifically for their needs as a 5-year-old. This is the perfect class to begin learning the very important techniques of ballet and tap. Broadway Babies

This class focuses on basic ballet technique, creative movement, musicality and motor skills. This class is designed to introduce our youngest performers to every aspect of the performing arts! It is perfect for children already singing and dancing all over the house as well as those that feel shy to get up in front of people. Our mini movers class is sure to be a great time! This class is designed for 2 year olds who love to move. During class students will be introduced to locomotive movement and music. The goal is to inspire creativity while teaching students how to interact in a classroom environment.
