This is what you need to wear to our belly dance class: Skirt, Top, and Shoes. If you have a long beachy skirt, that's exactly what you need! If not, yoga or exercise pants will work just fine! We also do have coin belts in the studio that you are welcome to use during class.

You know it's not the Goddess Retreat unless we dance with the elements. Because no matter how hard it may seem in the moment - what's with the hot sun, or possible rain, or the veils being wrapped up all around us - this is what we seem to cherish so much more as time passes. So, bring your veils and let's flow with the waves, Goddesses!

Our classes are held in sessions that consist of 8 classes during which we learn the basic and advanced belly dance moves, as well as a fun routine that you can show off to your friends (if you like).

In between the sessions, we also hold workshops that focus on learning how to belly-dance with various props - veils, zills, fan veils and even swords.

Join us for a dazzling Introductory Burlesque Feather Fan Fusion class at this year’s retreat! Whether you’re brand new or bringing some sparkle with you, all levels are welcome. We’ll begin with a brief history of burlesque—highlighting the iconic feather fan—then explore posture, technique, and a flirty, feel-good routine you’ll have fun performing.

Rooted in twenty-five years of dance experience, this workshop blends foundational technique with the joy of movement. The first half of the class will focus on refining movement technique, drawing from folkloric and festival dance influences. We’ll work on posture, isolations, and strong movement quality to build a solid foundation. In the second half, we’ll transition into dance flow—emphasizing expression, community, and the joy of dancing together in a festival atmosphere.

Finger cymbals (zills) are an ancient instrument with a time-honored connection to Bellydance. In this workshop, Liz will present a basic introduction to this amazing instrument and learn how they can be used to enhance your dance performances. She will take you through the first basic steps you need to create a solid foundation for fabulous zill work.

Dive into the vibrant world of Saidi, Egypt's most recognizable folkloric dance! With its powerful movements and energetic music, Saidi is the perfect gateway to folkloric dance. In this workshop, you'll master the essential Saidi techniques, explore its rich history, and learn how to wield the cane with confidence. We’ll also cover how to identify Saidi music and select the perfect costume. Get ready to immerse yourself in dynamic movement combinations and a thrilling snippet of choreography.
