Atlanta Academy of Ballet and Dance

When registering for pointe classes, students must take the 1.5-hour ballet class prior to the pointe class. Director approval is required before beginning pointe work. Dancers must be approved for this level and have 3 years of previous experience and at least 1 year of pointe work. Two Ballet classes are required to begin or continue with pointe work.

Weekly training for dancers ages 3-19, and Adult. Levels are a guideline only, based on technical proficiency. Some dancers may be placed at a higher or lower level. Contact the studio to schedule a placement class for dancers new to AABD. Minimum of 1 to 2 Ballet classes per week are recommended for Grades K - 1st. A minimum of 2 Ballet classes per week are recommended for Grades 2nd - 3rd. 2-3 Ballet classes per week are recommended for Grades 4th - 5th. Two ballet classes per week are required for ages 12-14.

AABD has a comprehensive Men's Program that includes classes in Tap. We offer Ballet and Tap classes for boys beginning as young as 3 years old. In addition to having a male ballet instructor on staff, all of our teachers have extensive experience instructing and choreographing for young men.

AABD has a comprehensive Men's Program that includes classes in Pas de Deux (Partnering). We offer Ballet and Tap classes for boys beginning as young as 3 years old. Partnering elements are included in choreography whenever possible, as even very young boys can do simple lifts and assists with a partner.

Luma Acro Classes are specialized classes conducted by Luma Acrobatics Staff focusing on acrobatic techniques and movements.
