Gentle Yoga

Gentle yoga offers a multitude of benefits for individuals of all ages and fitness levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced yogi, practicing gentle yoga can enhance your overall well-being. Gentle yoga focuses on slow, controlled movements and gentle stretches that help to increase flexibility and range of motion. It is performed at a slower pace, with less intense positions, and usually includes extended time for meditation, yogic breath work, and relaxation. Modifications are done to help people of all fitness levels enjoy the benefits of yoga without putting themselves at risk for injuries. Burlesque

Modern burlesque draws inspiration from vintage styles seeking to recapture the spectacle, glamour and theatrical performance of earlier eras. Including seductive, suggestive dance moves, comedy, stage presence and theatrical costumes and props.

Tap Dance

Tap is a style of dance characterized by the sound of the metal tap striking the floor. Tap utilizes rhythm, syncopation, and sound in addition to movement. An emphasis is placed on musicality, expression, and improvisation. Tap dancing increases coordination and develops a sense of rhythm and musicality in dance. The dancer’s feet become an instrument of “expression” that creates sounds with the floor. The class varies in styles from Traditional/Broadway Tap, Rhythm Tap (Hoofing) and Acapella.

Tai chi is a practice that involves a series of slow gentle movements and physical postures, a meditative state of mind, and controlled breathing. The meditative aspect of Tai Chi combined with the physical movement can help calm your mind, improve focus, and can even help trigger the release of feel-good endorphins. Physical exercise, in general, improves cognitive function and it is recommended for elderly people since it’s a gentler and more accessible form of physical exercise. Similar to yoga, Tai Chi often involves extensions of the body that can generally improve upon your flexibility and agility. Additionally, the intricate “yin and yang” of Tai Chi movements can help you with balance and coordination. As with any form of physical exercise, Tai Chi can build upon your existing strength and stamina. With ongoing practice, you might find you’re leaner, that your muscles are more defined, and that you’re able to exercise for longer periods of time.

Our kids ballroom dance classes (7-14 yrs old) are designed to introduce the art of partner dancing to your child and teach important etiquette skills such as courtesy and respect for each other while learning to dance like young ladies and gentlemen. We work hard to build lifelong skills such as kindness, respect, teamwork, self-confidence, and responsibility while learning to dance. Dancing is a social activity and your child will make new friends while having fun learning to dance.

Modern dance class combines ballet technique with creative expression, and can look jazz-like, balletic, lyrical, or totally different. Students learn how to express themselves through fluid, freeform movements that can be inspired by a variety of dance styles.
