Motions Dance Studio, located in Meridian, Idaho, is a vibrant hub for aspiring dancers of all ages. Stunt Teams!
Those who wish to be on the Stunt Team will need to communicate that to Coach Liberty. Stunt Team Placements are estimated to be finalized by mid-August. Stunt Teams will have an extra 45 min weekly practice. Stunt Teams will compete their routine at each competition, and Cheerfest.

Rec Cheer Class
Ballet
Required enrollment for Acro Team members who are not on another Motions Dance Team to ensure a strong foundation in ballet technique.
Technique
Required enrollment for Acro Team members who are not on another Motions Dance Team to ensure a strong foundation in dance technique.
Tumbling/Acro 3 or 4
Required enrollment for Acro Team members to develop advanced tumbling and acro skills necessary for the team.
Acro Team
A style of dance requiring prospective team members to have experience in dance and performance, in addition to great tumbling/acro skills. Currently one team from 3rd grade up.
Production Number
Each team will participate in a Production Number for the Grand Spring Recital, which team members are expected to perform in all recital shows.
Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical or Contemporary
All dance teams will learn routines in Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, or Contemporary styles. These routines will be performed at competitions and recitals.
Team, Ballet, Technique classes
Weekly classes including team practice, ballet, and technique required for team members throughout the dance year. Attendance is mandatory.
Light Benders Team
A competitive acro team that requires dance and performance experience along with great tumbling/acro skills.
Acro Team
A specialized team focusing on acro and tumbling skills combined with dance and performance experience for students from 3rd grade and up.

A competitive dance team for dedicated dancers looking to advance their skills and commitment beyond regular studio classes.

Dance Teams
Competitive teams for ages 4-18. Tryouts are at the end of May or early June every year. Participants will experience dance at a new, fun level, fostering confidence, friendships, and skills.

Team and Technique Classes

Ballet Only Classes

Petite Gymnastics
Petite Gymnastics Students need to be the minimum age of 4 years old before September 1 to enroll for the 2025/2026 Season. This class is perfect as an introduction to gymnastics and several apparatuses for our Preschoolers and Kindergartners. It is designed for young children with a lot of energy who need a fun and constructive outlet who also want to tumble! Classes are structured to stimulate coordination, balance, strength, basic tumbling skills and creative movement all while learning how to be in an athletic class setting.
Mini Combo
Our Mini Combo is for kids who are the minimum age listed by September 1 and are ready to participate in a dance class independently. (If they need a caregiver in the room with them, they need to enroll in the Tiny & Me Combo) This class is perfect for the littlest dancers as an introduction to ballet, tap and jazz. Creativity is encouraged as students learn proper technique and vocabulary through a specially designed curriculum that is taught to a variety of fun, age specific music and activities.
Petite Combo
Our Petite Combo is for students who are between the ages of 4-6 before September 1. In this class dancers will discover the fundamental movements and terminology of ballet, jazz and tap! Through artistic and expressive ways, students will develop strength, coordination, technique, skill, self confidence, and new friends.
Tiny & Me Combo
Our Tiny & Me Dance and Gymnastics Combo class is for students who are at least 1 before September 1 and are walking. This class is for our students between and ages of 1-4 who still need a caregiver in the room to help. This class is perfect for the littlest dancers as an introduction to ballet, jazz and gymnastics. Creativity is encouraged as students learn proper technique and vocabulary through a specially designed curriculum that is taught to a variety of fun, age specific music and activities.

Tumbling/Acro Level 2 & 3
To enroll: Students must demonstrate mastery of Level 2 skills. Instructors will let you know when your child is ready to move up. Level 3 students will learn , front and back walkover variations, valdez, front and back handsprings unassisted, roundoff back handspring, aerials with spot, head springs.
Back Walkovers
Minimum requirement is a backbend from standing. Must be close to or have a kickover. This class will focus on helping students solidify their kick-overs, or turn their backbend kickovers into a back walkover. We will focus on drills to gain control in our backbends, strengthen and increase flexibility in shoulders and backs, and strengthen students’ core muscles.
Cartwheels
This class is for kids who have never done a cartwheel through kids who are working on cleaning their cartwheels on both sides. We will focus on proper hip placement, gaining control, and cartwheel progression based on individual level.
Backbends
This class will teach students how to properly push up into a backbend from laying on the ground (sometimes known as a bridge), and will also focus on strengthening our backbends and increasing flexibility in students’ backs and shoulders.
Chaîné Turns
We are excited to launch our new skill focused intensives! Each class will be 45 minutes long so that we can get a good warm and stretch in before we spend 30 minutes focused on a specific technique skill. Twitch Hip Hop Masterclass
Stephen Laurel Boss, known as Twitch, was a multifaceted entertainer who rose to fame as a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008. We will be relearning one of his performances from So You Think You Can Dance, and learning a bit more in depth of his style including isolations and breaking.
A La Seconde Turns
We are excited to launch our new skill focused intensives! Each class will be 45 minutes long so that we can get a good warm and stretch in before we spend 30 minutes focused on a specific technique skill. Rather than focus on several skills in a category (like turns), we have broken these down to give students a chance to really practice and receive hands on corrections for specific skills, giving them greater mastery.
Aerials
Minimum requirements are: clean one-handed cartwheels, dive cartwheels, and a clean roundoff. This class is for kids looking to master or learn their aerial. We will focus on building strength, improving flexibility, and refining technique to ensure smooth, high flying execution. Various progressions may also be taught depending on individual. Students who have already mastered their side aerial can attend and work on front aerials, and opposite side aerials.
Back Handsprings
Minimum requirement is a solid back walkover. This class is for kids looking to master or learn their back handsprings. We will focus on proper technique such as body alignment, explosive power generation, and flawless landings. Various progressions may also be taught depending on individual level. Students who already have a back handspring can attend and work on their step out variation, and back handspring series.

Sr Cheer
Students must be the minimum age listed by September 1 to enroll for the 2025/2026 Season This class is for anyone who dreams of being a cheerleader! Students will work on basic cheer fundamentals including jumps, dance, stunting, tumbling, and cheering with our USASF All Star certified coaches. This is a fun way to develop strength, flexibility, and self – esteem through fun choreographed routines.

Pop Leaps
We are excited to launch our new skill focused intensives! Each class will be 45 minutes long so that we can get a good warm and stretch in before we spend 30 minutes focused on a specific technique skill. Rather than focus on several skills in a category (like turns), we have broken these down to give students a chance to really practice and receive hands on corrections for specific skills, giving them greater mastery.

Alicia has had a passion for dance and teaching since a young age! Growing up, she gained experience in various styles of dance, but especially fell in love with lyrical, jazz, and hip hop. When she is not dancing, she is teaching Kindergarten! It has always been her dream to mix her passion for teaching young children with her passion for dance, and she feels so blessed to be doing that and sharing her love of dance with others!

Janese has always loved to dance! Over the years she has dabbled in ballet, jazz, lyrical tap, swing, Brazilian Capoeira, and country line dancing. She has always loved working with and teaching young children, and she loves that she can combine her two passions as a member of the Motions Team!
