By now you’ve been exposed to foundations, rotations and shines. In order to be an effective dancer, you MUST know your part of the dance. It’s now time to learn how to connect with another person and explore the art of partner dance.

There are three main elements you’ll learn as you go through your Salsa dancing journey: Foundation Steps, Shines and Partnering. Shines are also known as “fancy footwork.” The Suzi Q is a classic shine to get you started.

Now to be confused with spins, turn are a step through rotation that introduces students to rotating. The basic right turn is a staple in Salsa dance so learn it well!

In your second lesson, you’ll discover how to properly to the basic step when dancing Salsa on2. Learn the basic well as it is your foundation for everything you’ll learn in Salsa!

In this lesson, Del will give you an overview of Salsa music and the timing involved. Understanding the music will help to make the later lessons more manageable.
