Kim's Academy of Dance

These classes are by invitation only and are for more serious dancers. These students have expressed an interest in dancing multiple times a week and are ready to take their dancing to the next level. Besides taking weekly classes, these students are required to take additional technique classes throughout the year using the Punch Card system.

These skills are becoming more popular in many types of dance routines. The first half of the class we will be doing effective Acro progressions that promote flexibility, strength, balancing and limbering. The second half of the class will consist of tumbling skills that will be done in repetition down the mat. Join us this year for an energized tumbling class!

An urban dance form that involves popping, locking, tutting, isolations, stalls and intricate footwork. Be sure to wear baggy clothes, get ready to sweat, and dance outside your comfort zone with these fun classes!

This class is a must if you are interested in Pointe. We require 1 year of ballet technique before going on your toes to dance. Anyone in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade is eligible for this class. This class is a lot of hard work, but if properly trained, Pointe dancing is very beautiful and self-rewarding.

Our lyrical classes are 45 minutes to 1 hour long and focus more on flowing body movements and flexibility. This style of dance incorporates ballet, jazz, modern and even Acro into one dance. To enhance overall dancing ability, we suggest taking both lyrical and a combination class!

These classes are 1 hour long and include a variety of ballet, tap, jazz, and tumbling. Combination classes are very important for young dancers because they teach the basic fundamentals of all dance. Teachers focus on timing and rhythm while working on coordination and body control. These classes will perform 2 dances in the recital.

These classes are 1 hour long and include ballet, tumbling & tap. We introduce our little ones to the basics of dance & rhythm, while learning classroom skills, making friends and having fun! Our preschoolers perform in our recitals, and are DEFINITELY the stars of the show !

Our Punch Card classes are "drop-in" only classes that do not require pre-registration. All you have to do is purchase your Punch Card and remember to bring it with you when you come to class! They will focus on a variety of advanced skills including turns, jumps, leaps and extension. They are a perfect way to polish your skills and will also include various conditioning combinations to increase core, leg and arm strength.
