Classes

Hip Hop

Contemporary

Contemporary introduces advanced students to the art of contemporary dance. Contemporary dance utilizes the technique of ballet while challenging the body to expand its center of movement. This class builds core strength while improving technique and enhancing creativity. Concurrent enrollment in Advanced Ballet is encouraged.

Pointe

Advanced Ballet students who are interested in dancing on Pointe can do so at the invitation of the instructor. A dancer's readiness for Pointe is dependent upon the work ethic and motivation of the individual student, as well as the development of the dancer’s body. Concurrent enrollment in Advanced Ballet is required.

Advanced Tap

Advanced Tap explores the various styles of tap dance while developing advanced technique, rhythm, and speed. Dancer’s will be challenged through different pieces of choreography to improve assimilation as well as develop special trick steps such as wings, pull-packs, and over-the-tops.

Advanced Jazz

Advanced Jazz students will focus heavily on turn, jumps, leaps, and jazz transitions as well as choreography retention skills. Dancers will learn different styles of Jazz within this class.

Advanced Ballet

Advanced Ballet students are trained in the theory and technique of classical ballet and have the option to prepare for work on Pointe. Dancers learn to unite technique with artistry while increasing body awareness.

Hip Hop

This class builds hip hop technique, strength, and confidence through dynamic movement and freestyle, encouraging dancers to develop their own unique style.

Tap

This class develops tap technique, rhythm, and speed through warm-ups, across-the-floor exercises, and exploration of various tap styles.

Jazz

This class introduces Jazz technique and performance skills through isolations, leaps, turns, and combinations, helping dancers build artistry and confidence in the style.

Lyrical Ballet

Dancers will review and build upon the knowledge and technique learned in Beginner Dance I.

Beginner Dance I

This class will include instruction in tap, ballet, and jazz with a focus on improving coordination, developing a sense of rhythm, and discovering the potential of the body in a fun and supportive environment. Dancers will start to dive deeper into tap, ballet, and jazz terminology.

Pre-Dance III

This class will include instruction in tap, ballet, creative movement, and tumbling skill builders. The primary goals of this class are developing coordination and spatial orientation, establishing a concept of rhythm and counting, supporting social skills such as sharing and cooperation, encouraging creativity and self-exploration, and using imagination to learn and grow. Dancers will also begin to learn more terminology in tap, ballet, and tumbling. (Kindergarten)

S&S Dance Collective

S&S Dance Collective gives dancers the chance to go beyond the recital by choreographing, performing, and connecting with the community . Open to all levels, the team builds creativity, leadership, and confidence through self-led routines and local events.

Tumbling: Ages 4-18

Tumbling classes progress through four skill-based levels, starting with the basics and building toward advanced acrobatic skills. Each level is focused on developing strength , flexibility, coordination, and confidence in a safe and supportive setting.

Adult Classes
