Origins Dance Academy

These classes are for our youngest dancers and are an introduction to dance that explore movement, levels, shapes, tempos and rhythms and help to develop coordination. Dancers will begin to build basic vocabulary in Ballet, Jazz and Tap.

Jazz is filled with energy, variety and vitality. Classes begin with a warm-up to develop strength, flexibility, correct alignment and coordination followed by progressions across the floor and end with combinations. Jazz focuses on percussive disciplines, isolations, expression and musicality.

A subcategory of Ballet, that requires solid, consistent, and current ballet training coupled with strength in the legs and the core of the dancer's body. Subject to pre-requisites.

Combines the techniques of Ballet and Jazz, utilizing movements to express strong emotions, such as love, joy and anger.

Hip Hop is a street style of dance that is fun, upbeat and high energy! Stretching, rhythms, musicality, footwork and a variety of styles of Hip Hop vocabulary are all incorporated.

Develop the fundamentals of dance through control, poise, precision, fluency and grace using the technique and style of ballet. With classical and contemporary ballet barré, center work and progressions this class improves fundamentals including body alignment, vocabulary and correct positions of the legs, feet and arms.
