About Drake Dance Academy

Drake Dance Academy, located in Sellersburg, Indiana, is a premier dance studio dedicated to cultivating a lifelong passion for the arts in students aged 2 to 18. Led by owner/director Sara Drake Budd, who brings extensive professional performing experience from Las Vegas and national tours, the academy offers a comprehensive dance education designed to foster personal and technical growth. Our mission is to nurture well-rounded individuals through the power of movement, building confidence and a deep appreciation for dance in a supportive and enriching environment. We offer a diverse range of classes for both aspiring professionals and recreational dancers, including foundational and advanced training in Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theater, Tap, and Acrobatics. Our esteemed instructors, such as advanced Ballet specialist Valerie Canon (BFA, University of Oklahoma) and advanced Hip Hop instructor Karis Wigand (competitive experience, collegiate dance team participation), bring a wealth of knowledge and professional experience. The curriculum emphasizes not only technical proficiency but also the expressive and artistic elements of dance, preparing students for various pursuits, from a lifelong love of movement to a career in the arts. Drake Dance Academy culminates each semester with a celebratory recital, providing a platform for students to showcase their progress.
