Turning Pointe Academy For The Performing Arts

Ages 2.5-4. Twinkle Tots is a 30-minute introductory dance class featuring ballet, tap, and creative movement. Young dancers will learn basic steps and how to follow directions in a positive environment. Engaging music and props like Twinkle bears and hula hoops inspire creativity and make the class enjoyable!

Ages 4-5 & Show Stars: Ages 5-6. This is a 45-minute class for young dancers, featuring ballet, tap, and jazz/creative movement. This class introduces basic steps and terminology in a fun, positive environment, helping to inspire creativity and movement.

Turning Pointe Academy's Dance Team program is for dedicated dancers seeking to enhance their skills through competitions, community outreach, and leadership development. This audition-only team focuses on competitive routines in styles such as Pom, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop, and Contemporary, with placements based on skill level. Our goal is to build self-confidence while improving technique and artistry. Dancers should be fit, self-motivated, and maintain a positive attitude and respect for the Academy and their teammates. The curriculum incorporates the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens/People.

Our studio mainly offers Broadway and jazz styles of tap. We do experiment with other styles such as freestyle, rhythm, and hoofing. For a well- rounded experience, students also learn about music, tap dancing legends, and the history of tap dancing. We offer three levels of tap: Tap Step 1 Tap Step 2: Tap 1 prerequisite Tap Steps 3&4: Tap 2 prerequisite

Our studio has students focus on the dance team style of jazz, but dancers will explore various styles of jazz ranging from contemporary to commercial styles of jazz. We currently offer two levels of jazz: Jazz Step 2: Ballet 1 or Hip Hop 1 prerequisite

Our academy offers three levels of lyrical classes. A student must take a minimum of one year of a ballet class before beginning a lyrical class. Lyrical Step 2: Ballet step 1 prerequisite Lyrical Step 3: Lyrical step 2 prerequisite Lyrical Step 4: Lyrical step 3 prerequisite Students with proficiency in both Ballet and Lyrical may choose to explore a more abstract genre of contemporary. We currently offer one advanced contemporary class: Contemporary Step 3: Ballet 2 and Lyrical 2 prerequisite

Our studio practices the ballet style of Vaganova and we offer two levels of pointe: Pointe Step 1: must be taking a ballet class and be recommended by a ballet teacher Pointe Step 2: must be taking a ballet class and be recommended by a ballet teacher

Twinkle Stars and Show Stars is a 45-minute class for young dancers, featuring ballet, tap, and jazz/creative movement. This class introduces basic steps and terminology in a fun, positive environment, helping to inspire creativity and movement. Dancers will learn concepts like "plié" and enjoy engaging, age-appropriate music. Props, such as hula hoops for "freeze dance," add excitement to the end of each class!

Join our vibrant acro and tumbling program, where we focus on enhancing fundamental dance tricks! We aim to inspire students to stretch their creativity by incorporating exciting new elements into their routines.

Our studio offers pom to those students wanting to broaden their dance experience and for those dancers wanting to dance on a college dance team. We offer four levels of pom: Pom Step 1 Pom/Jazz Step 2: Pom 1 prerequisite Pom/Jazz Step 3: Pom 2 prerequisite, left and right spilts, and double pirouette Pom/Jazz Step 4: Pom 3 prerequisite, left and right splits, very high performance quality, and triple pirouette
