Dance Driven, located in Madrid, Iowa, has been igniting a passion for movement and fostering a vibrant dance community since opening its doors in October 2008. Led by Studio Owner/Director Katie Waddell, whose extensive experience includes coaching dance teams and teaching with Just for Kix, the studio offers a diverse range of dance education for all ages. Katie's teaching philosophy is informed by her own rich background, including a memorable workshop with Robert Joffrey. The studio's comprehensive curriculum spans a wide array of styles, including foundational techniques like Ballet, Jazz, and Tap, energetic street styles such as Hip Hop and Breakdance, and captivating Latin rhythms with Salsa and Bachata. Dancers can also explore Contemporary, Ballroom, Zumba, Belly Dance, Flamenco, Clogging, Musical Theater, and even Aerial arts. Progressive Ballet Technique and Alixa Flexibility certifications underscore Dance Driven's commitment to advanced training and dancer well-being. Younger dancers are nurtured through the 'Preschool Driven' program (ages 2-5) with specialized combos, while the 'Kid Driven Club' offers engaging activities for older children. 'Homeschool Classes' are also available. The studio boasts successful competition teams that have earned numerous awards and accolades. Alyssa Waddell, a former student and instructor, notably contributes to the studio's programs, especially in ballroom. Beyond regular classes, Dance Driven provides opportunities through specialized clinics, camps, and private lessons, all within a supportive atmosphere designed to cultivate talent and encourage a lifelong love for dance.
