Tumbling

Our Tumbling program is designed to safely develop strength, coordination, and confidence through progressive skill-building. Certified through Acrobatic Arts, we focus on proper technique and the five key elements of tumbling: balance, flexibility, strength, limbering, and tumbling. Classes use mats, props, and specialized equipment to make learning safe, fun, and engaging at every level. Primary Tumbling (Ages 4–5) Young tumblers work on forward rolls, bridges, cartwheels, and round-offs, along with an introduction to limbering and walkovers. Headstands and handstands are introduced, all while using fun mats and props to keep kids active and excited to learn. Intermediate Tumbling (Suggested Ages 6–12) Building on the basics, intermediate students refine skills and progress into power tumbling. They begin working on aerial cartwheels, handsprings, and more challenging limbering skills. Classes incorporate spotting belts, trampolines, and other equipment to ensure safety while pushing students to the next level. Advanced Tumbling (By Skill, Ages 13+) Advanced tumblers have already mastered skills such as side aerials, front and back handsprings, and are working toward front aerials, standing back tucks, and advanced tumbling passes (such as round-off back layout step-outs and other variations). Training emphasizes strength, technique, and execution while preparing dancers for high-level performance and choreography. Why Tumbling instead of Gymnastics? While gymnastics often trains tricks using sprung floors, tumbling focuses on developing skills on the marley without use of mats—making it better suited for dancers. Tumbling helps dancers achieve strong acro tricks without compromising their lines, balance, or posture. It enhances flexibility, control, and strength in ways that directly support dance technique, performance quality, and choreography.

Hip Hop

Our Hip Hop program keeps dancers moving, learning, and inspired with authentic training in Hip Hop and street dance styles. Classes explore popping, locking, house, Chicago footwork, vogue, waacking, krump, breaking, tutting, and even fun “fad” dances like the moonwalk and running man—all taught with age-appropriate music and choreography. The Intermediate level (ages 6–12) introduces foundational steps, rhythm, and coordination in a fun, supportive setting, while the Advanced level (ages 13+) challenges dancers with more complex skills, musicality, and performance quality. Both levels encourage creativity, individuality, and confidence, giving dancers a true taste of Hip Hop culture. All Hip Hop dancers will perform a high-energy recital routine that showcases their personality, skills, and stage presence—it’s always a highlight of the show!

Advanced – Ballet/Tap/Jazz/Pointe
