About Raven School of Dance

Raven School of Dance, located in Atchison, Kansas, was founded in 2008 by Cheri Ann Menk with a vision to provide accessible dance opportunities for local children. Evolving from its initial 50 students, the studio now offers a vibrant selection of dance disciplines for all ages. Raven School of Dance operates as a unique, entirely student-run business, with all instructors being dedicated members of the Benedictine College Dance Team. These talented student athletes, including Elyse Erdman, Jenna Murrow, Giselle Glotzbach, Cecilia Bixenman, Elizabeth Gignoux, Ashley Anderson, Madeline Glotzbach, Halle Pavlik, Cara Gomez, Grace Dauby, Rachel Schmidt, Elinor Willet, Therese Tamburro, Bridgette Hand, and Christa Rotar, bring a wealth of experience and passion to their teaching. The comprehensive curriculum encompasses Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Modern, Musical Theater, Acrobatics, and Pom Technique. Classes range from foundational training like Tiny Tots and Ballet/Tap Combo to specialized instruction such as Dance Team Prep and Advanced Hip Hop. The studio emphasizes proper technique and a positive, encouraging learning environment, with instructors adapting classes to suit various age groups and experience levels. The academic year focuses on building foundational skills and technique in the first semester, followed by learning recital dances in the second. All performances are held at Benedictine College, providing students a professional platform to showcase their artistic growth and passion for dance to friends and family. Raven School of Dance is committed to nurturing talent and fostering a love for dance within the Atchison community.
