Kansas Ballet Academy

Classes in this open level adult ballet are taught to match the skill level of the enrolled students. This includes more repetition, a faster pace, and a greater variety of exercises compared to adult beginner classes.

This ballet class is designed for recreational dancers of youth and teen age groups who are seeking fun, fitness, sport, and camaraderie. The focus is on improving body placement, efficient movement, range of motion, posture, and alignment.

This ballet class is designed for children ages 6 and up who are home-schooled. It introduces them to the fundamentals of classical ballet technique and includes exploration of dance history, anatomy, and choreography.

Students interested in a serious dance study focus on high-quality ballet instruction for at least three days weekly. The curriculum maximizes individual growth and offers public performance opportunities, workshops, and master classes with professional artists. Dance electives are also available.

Dancers in the Intermediate Division (Levels 4-6) continue to refine their classical ballet techniques. They also train in elective dance styles including tap, jazz, modern, and competitive dance. Pointe technique may be introduced at Level 6.

Dancers continue to hone their classical ballet techniques while training in elective tap, jazz, modern and, competitive dance classes. Ladies of appropriate ability and readiness are invited to begin Pointe Technique at Level 6.

This comprehensive class caters to students aged 6 to 9, serving as a bridge to more advanced training. It introduces fundamental ballet techniques, along with elementary jazz and tap, helping students master body placement and develop skills in multiple dance forms.

This Kinder Tap class is for children aged 5 to 6. It offers an engaging way to learn tap dancing, focusing on rhythm, coordination, and musicality. The class provides a fun and energetic experience for young students.

Kinder Ballet is designed for children aged 5 to 6, providing a structured yet fun introduction to ballet. The class focuses on developing motor skills, rhythm, coordination, balance, and spatial awareness in a nurturing atmosphere.

This tap class is tailored for young dancers aged 3 to 4. It aims to introduce children to the joy of rhythm and sound through tap dance. The class encourages coordination and musicality in a fun and active environment.

This class is designed for young dancers, specifically for ages 3 to 4. It focuses on introducing them to the world of ballet in a fun and engaging way. Children will explore movement and music through imaginative play and structured activities, building foundational skills.

Dance instruction at this level is carefully designed to maximize individual growth and allows for multiple public performance opportunities. Students also have the ability to take part in special workshops and master classes from professional guest artists. Dance electives include modern dance, jazz, pilates, repertory, men’s technique, competitive dance, and more.

Dancers continue to hone their classical ballet techniques while training in elective tap, jazz, modern and, competitive dance classes. Ladies of appropriate ability and readiness are invited to begin Pointe Technique at Level 6.

Level III is an important bridge between the Young Dancer and Intermediate Division. It introduces fundamental exercises to help students master the body, arm, leg, and head placement needed in classical ballet.

Level I and II classes are carefully designed to ease students into a structured class setting while encouraging imaginative play in a fun atmosphere. Students develop fine and gross motor skills as they learn the concepts of rhythm, coordination, balance, spatial relations, perception, and memory.
