BALLET CLASS & STRETCH

For 6-9 years old and 9-11 years old. Ballet is the foundation of all dance training. A typical Ballet Class is divided into two sections: Barre and Centre, consisting of Adagio (flowing graceful movements performed to a slow tempo), Pirouettes, Allegro (faster lively movement such as jumps and turns and ultimately Grande Allegro (large leaps and jumps). Ballet Class will conclude with Reverence (Bows) at the end of class. Reverence is a way of understanding ballet’s traditions, elegance, and giving respect to your teacher for the dance. Note the required Ballet shoes, hair, and dance attire. See Dress Code. Dancers will have 1 costume and perform a Ballet dance in our June recital!

Monday 4:45 PM - 5:45 PM
TINY TUTUs

Ballet/Tap/Tumbling for 3-5 years old. It is never too young to start dancing! Enrolling your 3 to 5-year-old, first-time dancer in a dance class is more than just hopping around to fun music. Your dancers are establishing and developing self esteem as well as many important social, cognitive, physical, and gross motor skill sets that will be used for dance and in the real world! Preschool classes will focus on a combination of Tap, Introductory Ballet, and Creative movement, as well as light Acro/Tumbling skills. Note the required Ballet and Tap shoes, hair, and dance attire. See Dress Code. Dancers must be working on potty training and wear Pull Ups. Parents should bring dancers to the lobby. Young dancers specifically must visit the restroom prior to dance class. Dancers will have their dance bag and tap shoes on when they enter the class. (Dancers should not wear their dance shoes outside). An assistant will then bring them to the classroom. No parents please. We know this can be hard, especially at the beginning, but it is so important to teach young dancers this first step of independence! Parents may view classes from the monitor in the lobby.
