Morgan City Dance Theater, located in Morgan City, Louisiana, is a dynamic performing arts studio dedicated to nurturing dancers of all ages. Founded in May 2020, the studio has evolved into a vibrant hub for technical training and theatrical productions, offering an alternative to traditional recitals. Morgan City Dance Theater emphasizes rigorous technique development, artistic expression, and the creation of compelling, story-based dance shows that foster strong performance abilities. Students benefit from ample performance opportunities, including leading roles and solos. The studio utilizes proven curricula such as the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus, the Move Method, and DiscoverDance, ensuring a high standard of instruction. Owner/Artistic Director Sarah Herrera brings extensive experience from her training with the National Guatemala Ballet and Broadway Dance Center. Instructor Bree Barousse also contributes her multiple years of dance experience. The curriculum offers a comprehensive dance education with a strong emphasis on foundational techniques, including a rigorous Russian ballet program with dedicated training in Pointe for female students and partner work for young men. Specialized training is available in Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop (ages 10+), Contemporary, and Musical Theater. For students aged 7 and up, extra classes in Acrobatics and Aerial silks are provided. Morgan City Dance Theater is committed to family-friendly content, a supportive environment, and fostering a deep love for the art of dance within the community, aiming to develop students not only as artists but as individuals.
