Tutu School New Orleans

Level A: 5-6 years old. Level B: 6-8 years old. This program prepares young dancers for more advanced ballet studies, building upon foundational techniques with a focus on artistry and musicality.

Level A: 3 years old. Level B: 4 years old. Level C: 5 years old. Children will discover the fundamentals of ballet in a fun and engaging way, fostering creativity, discipline, and a love for dance.

Level A: 18-24 months old. Level B: 24 months – 3 years old. caregiver participation is required. Toddlers will explore a world of imagination through dance, building coordination and confidence while bonding with their caregivers.

Level A: 6-18 months old, pre-walkers. Level B: 6-18 months old, walkers. caregiver participation is required. These classes are designed for the youngest dancers, focusing on introducing them to the joys of movement and music in a gentle and nurturing environment.

Ballet Birthday Parties are extra special. What could be better than celebrating with crowns, cupcakes, and besties learning ballet? Take the stress out of party planning and leave all of the work to Tutu School. Simply show up and enjoy the sparkle!

Guests will enjoy a brief ballet class with lots of movement games and creative play, all culminating in the performance of a special ballet birthday story.

In the Primary Ballet Prep division we develop pure, fundamental ballet technique that will eventually allow our students to graduate to a more disciplined study of the craft – when their growing bodies are ready. In the meantime, we’ll continue to practice our pliés with a healthy helping of magical fun, thank you.

Classes in our Exploring Ballet division strike a perfect balance between structure and creativity. In this division we begin carefully laying the earliest foundation of ballet technique, but we always compliment our class work with fun, imaginative activities that keep young dancers captivated, engaged, and utterly in love with ballet.

Our goal in our Tutu Toddlers division is to work with you to engage your little one and give them an early experience with ballet they’ll never forget. Because at Tutu School we believe that exposing children at a very early age to creativity, movement, and music can only lead to good things. The core purpose of Tutu Toddlers classes is to get little ones in a room with music and movement, and to give them space to fall in love with both! Exploring new ways of moving through dance stories and games builds both coordination and confidence.

Ballet for babies? We’re so glad you asked. It’s never too early to expose little ones to movement and music, and Baby Ballet is a carefully curated curriculum for infants aged 6-18 months, with lots of opportunities to foster both caregiver bonding and age-appropriate development.

Adults participating in these classes should also wear comfortable clothes and bare feet or rubber-soled socks.

On any given day at Tutu Camp, a child might take a ballet class, decorate costumes, learn the story of a famous ballet, or even take part in a production of their own creation. Magic seems to multiply at camp, and Tutu Campers always come twirling back for more.

Imagine spending fun-filled camp days exploring the enchanted and enriching world of ballet! Many of our camp sessions focus on a different ballet story from the classical repertoire, and favorites include: Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, The Firebird, and Cinderella. Campers do not need to have prior ballet experience to participate, but they should be prepared for a lot of leaping, twirling, and imaginative adventures!
