Our curriculum nurtures talent and builds confidence through a diverse range of disciplines. We emphasize a strong foundation in Acrobatics, with specialized classes for preschoolers and graduated levels for older students, progressing from fundamental skills like bridges and handstands to more complex maneuvers such as walkovers, handsprings, and aerials. Additionally, The Dance Project provides foundational grace with Ballet classes, available to students as young as age two and progressing through senior levels, and energetic rhythms with Tap. Tap

Clothing is the same dress code as Jazz and Musical Theatre. Any color leotard, tight fitting camisole top, or appropriate dancewear top (t-shirts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear). Tight fitting jazz pants, Capri jazz pants, hot shorts (athletic shorts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear). Hair must be styled in a neat and secure ponytail or bun. SHOES AS FOLLOWS:

Musical Theatre

Any leotard, tight fitting camisole top, or appropriate dancewear top (t-shirts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear) Tight fitting jazz pants, Capri jazz pants, hot shorts (athletic shorts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear) Tan Bloch Neoflex jazz shoes (no dance sneakers, dance paws, or socks) Character Shoes may be required later in the year at the discretion of the instructor Hair must be styled in a neat and secure ponytail or bun.

Jazz

Any leotard, tight fitting camisole top, or appropriate dancewear top (t-shirts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear) Tight fitting jazz pants, Capri jazz pants, hot shorts (athletic shorts ARE NOT appropriate dancewear) Tan Bloch Neoflex jazz shoes (no dance sneakers, dance paws, or socks) Hair must be styled in a neat and secure ponytail or bun.

Hip Hop

Any appropriate dancewear top: leotard, camisole, sports bra, tight fitting shirt, or flowy shirt. Jazz pants, Capri jazz pants, hot shorts, sweatpants (NO blue jeans). Sneakers of any type (it is required that these be designated “dance sneakers” and not street shoes.)

Contemporary

Girls: Any color or patterned fitted top (long sleeve preferable). Tight fitting jazz pants, Capri jazz pants, leggings (shorts not recommeded). Barefoot or dance socks (black or tan socks only). Hair must be styled in a neat and secure ponytail or bun. Boys: Any color or patterned T-shirt (long sleeve preferable). Black dance pants (shorts not recommended). Barefoot or dance socks (black or tan socks only). Work hard. Stay humble.

Boys Ballet

Boys ballet attire includes a white shirt, black athletic pants or shorts, and black ballet shoes. Hair must be in a neat and secure slicked back bun.

Pointe Class

Pointe Class for ages 11 and up with faculty approval, requiring any color or patterned leotard, pink tights, pink pointe shoes professionally fitted, and any color or patterned skirt. Hair must be in a neat and secure slicked back bun.

Ballet Class

Ballet classes for ages 6 and up requiring a color-coded leotard and skirt combo purchased at The Tulle Box, pink tights, and pink leather or canvas split-sole ballet shoes/pointe shoes with instructor permission. Hair must be in a neat and secure slicked back bun.

Mini Ballet/Tap

Mini Ballet/Tap classes for ages 3-5 requiring a color-coded leotard and skirt combo purchased at The Tulle Box, pink tights, pink full-sole leather ballet shoes, and black patent leather tap shoes. Hair must be in a neat and secure slicked back bun.

Mini 2 Ballet

Mini 2 Ballet class for ages 2 requiring a color-coded leotard and skirt combo purchased at The Tulle Box, pink tights, and pink full-sole leather ballet shoes. Hair must be in a neat and secure slicked back bun.

Acro

Tight fitting athletic clothing is mandatory for safety and proper alignment. Unitards, leotards, camisole or tank tops are acceptable. Leggings, biker or dance shorts are acceptable. No shoes are required (no socks are allowed) Hair must be styled in a neat and secure ponytail or bun. Please avoid braided ponytails.

Dancer's Intensive
$50 registration fee will be required at the time of registration. This fee will be credited to your full tuition amount for the Intensive.

ADVANCED LEVEL

These classes are for students ages 13 & up with 6-8 years of dance and/or acro experience. Weekly classes are a great way to get to know our faculty and to see for yourself what makes our DP Culture special!

INTERMEDIATE LEVEL

These classes are for students ages 9 & up with 4-5 years of dance and/or acro experience. Weekly classes are a great way to get to know our faculty and to see for yourself what makes our DP Culture special!

BEGINNER LEVEL

These classes are for students ages 6 & up with 0-3 years of dance and/or acro experience. Weekly classes are a great way to get to know our faculty and to see for yourself what makes our DP Culture special!

Technique

Technique is a combination class consisting of dance conditioning, flexibility and progressions across the floor (leaps and turns). It is designed to address those high-demand areas needed for the demands of technical dance today.

Tap combined with Ballet

Tap

Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sounds of tap shoes striking the floor as a form of percussion. Two major variations on tap dance exist: rhythm tap and Broadway tap. Broadway tap focuses on dance; it is widely performed in musical theater. Rhythm tap focuses on musicality, and practitioners consider themselves to be a part of the Jazz tradition. Tap dance is offered to age 3 & up.

PrePointe

PrePointe is offered to dancers ages 9 & up. PrePointe is a non-recital class that lasts September-May.

Pointe technique is part of classical ballet involving a technique that concerns pointe work, in which a ballet dancer supports all body weight on the tips of fully extended feet when wearing pointe shoes. Pointe is offered to dancers ages 11 & up upon faculty approval.

Senior Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting and dance. This class is for ages 15 and up.

Acro in graduated levels is offered to ages 6 & up. Acro Classes are divided by a combination of experience and age.

PreSchool Acro

PreSchool Acro is offered to ages 3-5. This class focuses on acrobatic skills and is designed for young children.
