The Libitzki School Of Dance

At age 9, dancers will begin their training in classical ballet. Beginning of 1st class, students will start learning proper positions, exercises, terminology and alignment. As students progress, they will build on their knowledge as teachers see fit. These levels we do offer a ballet/tap/jazz combo class.

For this level students will build on their education of ballet exercises and terminology as they grow and learn. Basic ballet skills, rhythm and movement are taught and added onto. Students will continue on in tap learning more advanced tap steps. Students who are in 3rd grade will be introduced to jazz! In jazz, we will work on basic jazz technique such as isolations, combinations and much, much more!

The first part of these classes are focused on our ballet skills and learning how to be a graceful ballerina. Get ready for tap shoes! At Age 3 1/2, we add tap into their dance curriculum. The second half of class we will spend working on our our beginner tap steps to fun and upbeat music.

Our preschool classes are similar to our 'tiny dancers' but we introduce tap! In ballet, students will work on basic positions, listening to directions, taking turns, standing on spots, etc. In the tap portion of the class, students will work on proper etiquette when wearing tap shoes, balance and basic steps. This combo class is perfect for your 3 1/2 to 5 year old. No previous training necessary to enter the class.

This fun and playful "Tiny Dancers" class is the perfect place for a first time dancer! Children will be introduced to the amazing world of ballet dance and start to be independent from mom and dad. Students will learn to listen to directions, wait their turn along all while exploring ballet movement.

For both the novice dancer and the ones with no previous experience. Students will learn all the basics of the Vaganova syllabus taught in the former Soviet Union. We will go over all the basic ballet positions, proper alignment, as well as ballet terminology. Come join us and spend some time focusing on just you and your body!
