Classes

Mommy & ME! Sessions

Tap

“A form of dance using rhythmic sounds with the feet” ... Using a graded system of tap technique alongside DMA National Standards, our instructors offer a wide variety of tap style s for you to enjoy. Students will progressively learn time steps, rhythmic patterns, music signatures, tap terminology and more. Tap dance increases coordination, fine motor skills, musicality, stage presence, and self-confidence!

Jazz

Jazz dance is an umbrella term that can refer to several related dance styles. All of them are connected via common roots, namely ballet, jazz music, and African-American rhythms from as far back as the 1800's. Using classic jazz terminology and up to date choreography to upbeat popular music, this is our most popular class to date. Classes consist of proper warm-up stretch techniques, center floor combinations & choreography, across the floor progressions, leaps, jumps & turns. Our jazz classes may include Theater Jazz, Character Jazz, African & Funk Jazz techniques. This is a fun, fast paced class!

Ballet

The foundation of ALL styles of dance, ballet is highly recommended for all dancers. Our instructors use Dance Master’s of America syllabus with the Cecchetti ballet method to ensure each dancer proper training at any age or level. Ballet dance promotes self-confidence, improved posture, flexibility, core strength, and spinal alignment. A great low-impact fitness option for adults.

Pointe

Pointe class is by instructor recommendation only. We offer Pre-Pointe readiness classes by session as a prerequisite for beginner Pointe class. It is important that dancers wait until their bodies are ready for Pointe work. Pre-Pointe & Pointe students will learn pointe shoe anatomy, safety, correct body placement, posture, strength and control. We promote safe, healthy progress in our Pointe classes. Students must take a minimum of one Ballet Technique class to participate in Pointe class. Year-end recital costume included in tuition.

Hip-Hop

Hip-hop dance refers to street dance styles primarily performed to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture . It includes a wide range of styles such as breaking, popping, locking, commercial and industry, etc. All of our hip-hop classes implement the 4 core elements of hip-hop, age app ropriate music/movement and historic terminology. Our upper level hip-hop students are also encouraged to participate in local hip-hop dance events to better immerse them in the youth hip-hop culture in our community. Year-end recital costume included in tuition.

AcroArts

A unique style of dance emphasizing spinal flexibility, balance & counter-balance skills, control and strength. Acrobatics has become a favorite among the younger dancers who like to stretch, bend and tumble. Dancers are introduced to acrobatics at the preschool level and are able to continue that interest into the kinder level and beyond to young adult. Beginning with forward rolls & cartwheels to more advanced aerial, contortion, balance and tumbling skills following the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus Program, acrobatics is a great form of strength building exercise. Acrobatics dancers must be in good physical health to particip ate. Year-end recital costume included in tuition.

In addition to classical ballet we also offer Lyrical, Contemporary, Modern & Improvisational classes and material for Advanced Recreational II students. Year-end recital costume included in tuition.

AcroArts Level 1

Got a little one that flips all over your house? You've found the perfect class! Acrobatic Arts is a great addition to your children's program dance schedule. Acrobatics unique style of dance emphasizing spinal flexibility, balance/counter balance skills, control and strength using the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus Program. Acrobatics has become a favorite among the younger dancers who like to stretch, bend and tumble. Acrobatics dancers must be in good physical health to participate.

Pre-Ballet Technique

Pre-Ballet compliments the Kombo Kids class for dancers ages 6-7. At this age students will begin to learn classical ballet technique & terminology using national standards of the Dance Master's of America syllabus and the Cecchetti Ballet Method. This is a great class for the student that has completed KinderDance or a 7 year old that has little to no ballet training. Students will perform a ballet routine in the year end recital. Also, the Acrobatics - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to Pre-Ballet Technique!

KomboKids

A combination of beginner tap as well as an introduction to jazz dance. This class can be taken alone or in addition to Pre-Ballet Technique. Using the national standards of the Dance Master's of America syllabus & graded technique curriculum, students in the Kombo Kids class will learn all the important fundamentals in two core subjects of dance. This is a great class for a 6 year old that has completed KinderDance or a 7 year old that has littl e to no dance training. Students will perform two routines in the year-end recital (tap and jazz). Also, the AcroArts - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to KomboKids!

KinderDance

KinderDance will give young dancers a great sense of all that dance has to offer with a beginner level tap & an introduction to ballet. This class is recommended for a 5 year old that has completed PreDance II or a 6 year old with little to no training. Students will continue learning musicality, rhythmic sounds, develop classroom etiquette, poise/posture and social skills . KinderDance will perform a tap dance routine and a ballet routine in the year-end recital. Also, the AcroArts - Level I class makes for a flippin' fun addition to KinderDance!

Hip-Hop Tots

Move n' groove to fun, age-appropriate music in this 30 minute hip-hop class! Students will learn memorization, gross motor skills, musicality, spacial awareness, social skills, classroom etiquette and basic hip-hop technique. The perfect way to get all that energy out! This class would be a great addition to Pre-Dance II. Hip-Hop Tots will perform one routine in the year-end recital.

Ballet Babies

Ballet Babies dancers will be introduced to basic ballet movement and creative exploration. Students will learn memorization, sing-a-long songs, gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, spacial awareness, social skills, and classroom etiquette. This is a great class for your budding ballerina! Ballet Babies students will perform one routine in the year-end recital. This class is also a great addition to Pre-Dance II!

PreDance II

PreDance II dancers will be introduced to basic tap dance, creative movement & basic acrobatics/tumbling. They will learn memorization, sing-a-long songs, gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, musicality/rhythmic sounds, spacial awareness, social skills, classroom etiquette and an introduction to more advanced choreography. We also cover pre-school & kindergarten readiness material such as colors, shapes, letters, numbers, etc. This is a great class for a 4 y ea r old that has done PreDance I or a 5 year old with little or no training. PreDance II students will perform a tap dance routine and an acrobatics routine in the year-end recital.

PreDance I

PreDance I has proven to be a great start to a successful dance education! Dancers will be introduced to pre-tap dance, pre-tumbling, building gross motor skills, hand/foot coordination, musicality, and social skills. We also cover pre-school & kindergarten readiness material such as colors, shapes, letters, numbers, etc. This class is recommended for a 3 year old who is fairly outgoing or a 4 year old that has little or no training; must be able to come into the classroom independently & be potty trained. PreDance I students will perform a tap dance routine in the year-end recital. Dancers not quite ready for PreDance I would greatly enjoy a Mommy & ME! class to get started .

Mommy & Me

This parent & toddler dance class introduces your tiny tot into the magical world of dance! Mommy & Me follows our pre-school dance curriculum all with parent help and reassurance. Dancers will explore creative movement, tumbling, gross & fine motor skills, classroom etiquette and social skills. This class is great to get your little one started before moving on to our Pre-Dance I class. It's also a great way to meet other families in our communit y!

Spring Into Spring Session

A short and sweet Spring Session for ages 2 & up! Perfect for children new to dance or experienced students looking to supplement their training. This session does not participate in our year-end recital but will learn short routines for an in-class performance!

Winter WonderLand of Sweets Session

This biannual Winter Session offers classes in tap, jazz, hip-hop and more for ages 4 & up. Ballet students are able to audition for our mini version of "The Nutcracker" as well. From October to December, Winter WonderLand of Sweets students will learn short routines and perform in a festive holiday recital!

Specialty Class Sessions

We offer a variety of Specialty Class Sessions in the Fall, Winter & Spring. These sessions may include Pilates, Yoga, Acting, Ballroom, and more. Open to the entire community for all levels and abilities!

Mommy & Me Sessions

We offer ongoing Mommy & Me Sessions for ages 2 - 3yrs all year long. This class follows our pre-school dance curriculum all with parent help and reassurance. Join us for a fun & educational creative movement session with your toddler!

The Recital Session

The Recital Session runs from September to June and concludes with a full scale recital! We have multiple class options for all ages and commitment levels offered from Monday through Friday.
