Classes

Hip Hop A & B (ages 8 and up) and Mini Hip Hop (ages 5-7)

Hip Hop is an energetic, upbeat style of dance. It evolved from the Hip Hop culture and incorporates elements from Jazz, Rock, and Tap and involves a wide range of body movements and isolations.

Lyrical 1-4 (ages 8 and up)

Lyrical is a contemporary dancing which is a mix of ballet and modern but with a storyline. Dancers will work on ballet/jazz technique while focusing on emotion and expression of music and lyrics. Dancers must be enrolled in a ballet class in order to take Lyrical.

Tap 1-5 (ages 8 and up)

Tap is a rhythm based dance that works on coordination and musicality. Students will study many styles of tap from Rhythm tap to Broadway style tap.

Jazz 1 - 3, Teen Jazz, and Advanced Jazz (ages 8 and up )

Jazz is a high energy class with upbeat music for ages 8 and up. Each class includes a warm-up, stretching, center pirouettes, across the floor patterns and a final combination of movement that develops coordination and strength. All styles of jazz, from Broadway to current styles, will be studied in all levels.

Ballet 1 –3 and Advanced Ballet (ages 8 and up)

Ballet is the most important form of dance, as it is the basis for all dance styles. Ballet teaches poise and grace, as well as flexibility and balance. We encourage all our students to take a ballet class which will include a series of barre, center, and across the floor exercises.

Stepping Stars Ballet/Jazz/Tap Ages 5-7

After completing Combo I 5-7 year old or Combo II 4-5 year old, the dancer will then move into our Stepping Stars program. The dancers choose which dance styles to take, each class being 30 minutes. We understand dancers have a passion for different types of dance, and now we have the options available for them to choose their favorites. We strongly suggest that this age group still remain in a ballet class to help them continue to develop their understanding of the fundamentals of dance.
