Information on shoes and tights for Recreational Dancers, advising to refer to the Recital Handbook (pages 19-20) or contact the studio via email at poweresd2007@aol.com. Company Dancers should wear their correct shoes/tights as they do for competition.

Details for Company Dancers regarding picture day on Saturday, June 7th (10am-9pm) and Sunday, June 8th (10am-2pm) at the dance studio. Dancers should arrive 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time slot. Information regarding competition hair, PE attire, and shoes for dress rehearsal is also provided.

Rehearsals require PE company attire and all shoes. Hair pulled back out of face. This is for serious dancers looking to improve their technique.

Technique Class requires TIGHT clothing; i.e. Leotards, tights, leggings, athletic shorts, spandex shorts, sports bras, fitted t-shirts/tank tops. Hair pulled back out of face. Foot paws. 1.5-3lb ankle weights. Resistance bands.

Acro Class requires TIGHT clothing; i.e. Leotards, tights, leggings, athletic shorts, spandex shorts, sports bras, fitted t-shirts/tank tops. Hair pulled back out of face. Bare feet (maybe foot paws).

ALL Choreography Classes require TIGHT clothing; i.e. Leotards, tights, leggings, athletic shorts, spandex shorts, sports bras, fitted t-shirts/tank tops. Pointe Class requires leotard and tights, pointe shoes/accessories, and hair in a bun. Pointe class is for serious dancers looking to perfect their technique.

Ballet Technique Classes require leotard and tights, ballet shoes, and hair in a bun. These dancers spend hours in the studio perfecting their technique and routines in every genre under the instruction of our highly trained professional staff.

Our Elite Company is our most advanced competitive line. This division is for the serious dancer with the dedication and drive that is required to be a part of this award winning team. Attends 4-5 Regional Competitions a year and Nationals. Two of these are Dance Conventions.

Ballet classes require a leotard and tights, ballet shoes, and hair in a bun. Dancers must maintain a positive attitude, good work ethic, and arrive on time. Water bottles are permitted in dance rooms, but no socks are allowed.

Technique class is devoted to training bodies and minds in the technical aspects of dance. The class incorporates core strengthening, leg and arm strengthening, and practice with the technique of classical ballet and jazz foundations. The repetition of strengthening exercises helps to train the body, and improve accuracy of movements.

Our beginning KinderCombo class (now known as TWIRL* yellow OR aqua), is a combination class consisting of tap and ballet, with an intro into jazz. This class performs one routine in the annual recital. This class is for the dancer who has never danced before and would like to start, or for the dancer who wants to improve on their skills before advancing into the intermediate class.

Jazz is an energetic dance form that uses technique, foot work, and flexibility, and is incorporated into a fun upbeat song. Jazz dance is fun for kids of all ages and provides a foundation to dance, like ballet.

Contemporary is a form of dance that uses ballet and modern techniques with focus on movement quality. It incorporates floor work, improvisation techniques, and quick changes in movement. It is the most popular genre seen at dance competitions.

Hip hop is a type of street dancing that has different styles such as breaking, locking, popping, and more. It is typically performed to hip hop music. Dance versatility, agility, improved cardio vascular health, and strengthened core, arm and leg muscles.

Lyrical is a form of dance that merges ballet technique and jazz dance, and is performed to the lyrics of a song. Lyrical dance is a bit faster in pace in comparison to ballet. Benefits include flexibility, endurance, strength, performance quality, and improved lung and heart condition.

Tap is a form of dance with the use of shoes that have metal taps on the heels and toes that make noise. Tap dance uses a combination of rhythms to make different sounds. Benefits: Coordination, sense of rhythm and timing, endurance strengthening.

Trials are only available for our Recreational Classes! Dance attire is not required for trial classes! Please dress your dancer in comfortable clothing and wear slip resistant socks for jazz and ballet classes OR a pair of tennis shoes for tap and hip hop classes. 24 hour notice is appreciated

Our intermediate KinderCombo class is a combination class consisting of tap and jazz. This class performs 2 routines in the annual recital. This class introduces more difficult steps than learned in beginner KinderCombo and is perfect for the dancer that has already taken dance class before and wants to challenge themselves.

Howdy Y’all! We’re lookin’ for some fancy dancing cowgirls and cowboys to star in the Rhinestone Roundup, a fun variety show featuring all things boots and bling! Dancers will play starring roles in all the fun...creating rhinestone- tastic dance Reels to promote the show (think line dancing and karaoke), “giddying up” their own accessories with glitz, and of course performing at the live show! We need blinged-out boots on the ground quicker than all get-out for this jazz and hip hop camp with an extra twang, so join us for a kickin’ good time! #bringthebling #yeehaw

But before they can shine on stage, dancers will attend W.I.C.K.E.D. University (The Wow Institute & College of Kooky Eccentric Design), where they’ll team up to earn enchanting badges for their Besties Bubble Book. Through captivating dance challenges and Oz-some craft creations, this jazz and hip hop camp with a musical theater twist will cast a Wickedly Good spell of creativity, sprinkled with the magic of friendship!

Raise your paws if you love Paw Patrol and Secret Life of Pets because you’ll PAWSitively love this fun tap, ballet and creative movement dance camp! Tiny dancers can bring their favorite stuffed pet (dog, cat, character, anything goes!) and together they’ll unleash the fun on four PURRfect dancing adventures: The Paws & Claws Pet Spa, Pet PAWrade, Museum of Pet PAWtraits and the Disco Dance PAWty! At each stop along the way, dancers and pets will dance together and earn paw prints in their Pet PAWfolios. This dance PAWty will be a fun time...FUR sure!!
