Ruby Ensemble
Ruby Ensemble is a novice performing ensemble and consists of dancers ranging in age from 8 - 10. This ensemble has an emphasis on Jazz and Tap choreography, but typically includes additional styles in Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and/or Modern. Scroll down for specific requirements.
Pearl Ensemble
Pearl Ensemble is the youngest of six performing ensembles ranging in ages from 6 to 8. This Ensemble has an emphasis on Jazz and Tap choreography, however Ballet technique is required. Scroll down for specific requirements.

RAD Primary
Introduction to Dance 3
Introduction to Dance 3 includes ballet, tap, and creative movement. This is a full year class and concludes with a performance in the June Concert. No experience required. Must be 5 by 9/1/2025.
Introduction to Dance 2
Introduction to Dance 2 includes ballet, tap, and creative movement. Intro 2 is session based and the Spring session runs from January-June. No experience required. Must be 4 by 9/1/2025. Dancers who turn 4 between 9/1/25 & 2/1/26 and choose to register for the Spring session of Introduction to Dance 2 will be required to take 3 sessions of the class before transitioning to Intro 3.
Introduction to Dance 1/2 and Tumbling
Introduction to Dance 1/2 and Tumbling includes ballet, basic beginner tumbling (forward rolls, backward rolls, balances, etc.), and creative movement. Intro 1/2 and Tumbling is session based and the Spring session runs from January-June. The first class is Saturday, 1/24 and the last class is Saturday, 6/6. No experience required. Must be 3 by 9/1/2025. For ages 3 - 5. It is recommended that dancers take 2 sessions of Introduction to Dance 1/2 and Tumbling before transitioning to the next level.
Teen Modern
Prerequisites: Minimum of 1 - 2 years in Teen Beginner Modern (previously Teen Modern 1) or by teacher recommendation. Weekly Class Requirements: Recommended to take one additional style in jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, or tap. Please call or email the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company and unsure about your level.
Lyrical 4
Lyrical is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet and jazz techniques. Lyrical uses a songs lyrics as the primary inspiration behind movement. Minimum of 2 years of Lyrical 3A and a placement of Ballet 3A, and Jazz or Modern 3A or higher (or by teacher approval). Enrollment in 3 ballet classes a week and 1 modern or jazz class a week is required.
Jazz 2A (Advanced)
Minimum of 2 years of Jazz 2B and a placement of Ballet 2B or higher. (or by teacher approval) Enrollment in 2 ballet classes per week is required. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
Jazz 1A (Advanced)
Minimum of 1 - 2 years of Jazz & Tap 1B required or teacher recommendation and placement. Enrollment in 1 ballet class per week is recommended. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
Ballet 5/RAD Advanced 1
This level of training focuses on refinement of the dancer’s technical skills and artistry at an advanced level. Emphasis is placed on musicality, performance quality, and expression. Students are expected to have a strong understanding of ballet terminology and be able to execute advanced movements such as multiple turns and complex adage. Pointe work is required. Students who have completed their Intermediate exam with a score of Pass or higher and are enrolled in Advanced 1 are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam. Three ballet classes per week are required for enrollment in RAD Advanced 1. Enrollment in RAD Advanced 1 is by teacher invitation only. This class is the only Level 5 class currently offered at the studio. This class is not equivalent to any other class. This class also includes pointe work for those who have progressed to the Pointe 2A level or higher.
Ballet 3A (Advanced)
Three ballet classes per week are required for enrollment in the Ballet 3A Level. Students in this level will be working on complex exercises and advanced steps focusing on rigor, musicality, precision and control. Minimum requirement 1 year of RAD Intermediate Foundation and/or 2 -3 years of 3B.
Summer

Intro to Dance
Introduction to Dance classes are for our youngest students, typically aged 3-6 years old, introducing them to the joy of movement and basic dance concepts.
Lyrical
Lyrical dance is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance techniques, emphasizing fluidity and emotional expression through movement.
Hip Hop
Hip hop dance is a dance style that culminates many styles of street dance, originating from hip hop culture and featuring improvisational and energetic movements.
Tap
Tap dance is a percussive dance style where dancers use their feet, shod in tap shoes, to create rhythmic sounds against the floor.
Jazz
Jazz dance combines classical ballet and modern dance techniques with contemporary influences, characterized by syncopation, improvisation, and a strong sense of rhythm.
Modern
Modern dance is aimed at finding freedom with form, exploring movement possibilities beyond classical ballet conventions and emphasizing gravity and floor work.
Pointe

Junior Lyrical
Beginner-level class for ages 9-12. No teacher recommendation is required. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company and unsure about your level.
Ballet 1B (Beginner)
Ballet for beginners. Dancer must be 7 by 9/1/25. 1 Ballet class/week is required at this level and dancers can expect 1-2 years training in this level. This a full hour of ballet introducing all of the basic steps. No prior experience is required.
Junior Jazz
Beginner-level class for ages 9-12. No teacher recommendation is required. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company and unsure about your level.
Ballet 2B (Beginner)
Minimum requirement of 1 year of RAD Grade 3 and/or 2 years of Ballet 1A (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 2 ballet classes a week required Students in this level will expand the basic vocabulary and continue to refine and strengthen core steps. Enrollment in Level 2B and above is by teacher recommendation only . Dancers can expect to train in this level for 2 years.
Introduction to Dance 2
This class builds upon the fundamentals learned in Introduction to Dance 1, introducing more complex choreography and performance elements. Dancers will explore various dance styles.
Introduction to Dance 1
This class provides a foundational understanding of dance principles and movements, suitable for beginners. Focuses on developing basic coordination and musicality.
Commercial Dance Intensive
The Commercial Dance Intensive will focus on tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip hop and contemporary dance including improv, repertoire and more!
Concert Dance Intensive
The Concert Dance Intensive will focus on ballet, modern and contemporary dance including pointe, improv, repertoire and more!

Modern 1B
Introduction to Modern dance for beginners ages 7-11 years old. No recommendation or placement required. Students must be 7 years old by 9/1/2025.
Ballet 3B (Beginner)
Minimum requirement of 1 year of RAD Intermediate Foundation and/or 2 years of Ballet 2A or 1 - 2 years of Ballet 3C (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 3 ballet classes a week required Students in this level will spend time working on more complex vocabulary and rigorous exercises and while continuing to refine and strengthen core steps. Enrollment in Level 3B and above is by teacher recommendation only. Dancers can expect to spend up to 3 years in this level.
Ballet 3C
Minimum Requirement of 1 year of RAD Grade 5 and/or 2 years of Ballet 2A (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 2 ballet classes a week required, 3 ballet classes a week recommended Students in this level will spend additional time working on more complex exercises while continuing to refine and strengthen core steps before fully transitioning into Level 3 work. Dancers can expect to spend up to 2 years in this level.
Ballet 2A (Advanced)
Minimum requirement of 1 year of RAD Grade 4 and/or 2 years of Ballet 2B (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 2 ballet classes a week required Students in this level will begin to combine vocabulary to create more complex exercises and continue to refine and strengthen core steps. Enrollment in Level 2A and above is by teacher recommendation only. Dancers can expect to train in this level for 2 years.
Modern 2B
Students must have a minimum of 2 years of Modern 1 and a ballet placement of 2B or higher. Teacher recommendation and placement, as well as, simultaneous enrollment in at least one ballet class a week is required. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
Pointe 2B Non-Performing
This is an intermediate-level pointe class for students who have been dancing in pointe shoes for a significant amount of time. This class does not perform in the concert. Minimum of 2 years of Pointe 1A, and a ballet placement of 3B or higher (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 3 ballet classes a week and 2 pointe classes a week required, 4 ballet classes recommended Dancers can expect to spend 2-3 years in this level. Pointe 1A (Advanced)
This is an advanced beginner pointe class for students who have been dancing in pointe shoes for a minimum of 1 - 2 years of Pointe 1B, and a ballet placement of 3B or higher (or by teacher approval). Weekly Class Requirements: 3 ballet classes a week required, 4 ballet classes and 2 pointe classes a week recommended This class does not perform in the concert. Dancers can expect to remain in this level for up to 2 years. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
Pointe 1B (Beginner)
This is a beginning pointe class also suitable for dancers relatively new to pointe. Must have taken Pre-Pointe and passed the Pointe assessment, with a ballet placement of 3C or higher (or by teacher approval). Weekly Class Requirements: 3 ballet classes a week required, 4 ballet classes and 2 pointe classes a week recommended This class does not perform in the concert. Teen Intermediate Modern

Hip Hop 1B (Beginner)

Hip Hop 1A (Advanced)
Minimum of 1 - 2 years of Hip Hop 1B required (or by teacher approval). Enrollment in 1 additional style per week is recommended (jazz, lyrical, ballet, modern, or tap). Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
Pre-Pointe
Students will prepare for pointe by working on conditioning exercises to strengthen the feet, ankles and core in preparation for pointe work. All dancers must pass the Pointe Assessment prior to dancing on pointe. Please note : This class does not guarantee every dancer will pass the Pointe Assessment and dance on pointe.
RAD Advanced Foundation (Non-Performing)
With a focus on refinement of the dancer’s technical skill and artistry, Advanced foundation places an emphasis on musicality, performance quality, and expression. Dancers at this level of study are expected to have a thorough understanding of ballet terminology and be capable of executing advanced movements such as multiple pirouettes and complex allegro. Pointe work is required. Students who have completed their Intermediate exam with a score of Pass or higher and are enrolled in Advanced Foundation are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam.
Ballet 1A (Advanced)
Ballet for dancers ages 8-11. Minimum of 1 year of RAD Grade 1 and/or 1 year of 1B. This class is a full hour of ballet refining all of the basic steps. 1 Ballet Class per week is required at this level. Dancers can expect to train in this level for 2 years.

RAD Intermediate Foundation
This is the first in the Vocational (once called pre-professional) levels of RAD training. Dancers at this level are expected to have a solid understanding of ballet terminology and be able execute more complex movement, such as pirouettes and allegro. Focus is placed on developing the dancers’ technical skills and artistry while emphasizing musicality and performance quality. Pointe work is introduced following a pointe assessment. Students enrolled in Intermediate Foundation are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam.
Junior Ballet

Lyrical is a style of dance created from the fusion of ballet and jazz techniques. Lyrical uses a songs lyrics as the primary inspiration behind movement. Minimum of 2 years of Lyrical 3B and a placement of Ballet 3B, and Jazz or Modern 3B or higher (or by teacher approval). Enrollment in 3 ballet classes a week and 1 modern or jazz class a week is required.
Jazz 3B (Beginner)
Minimum of 2 years of Jazz 3C and a placement of Ballet 3C or higher. (or by teacher approval) Enrollment in 2 ballet classes per week is required; 3 ballet classes per week is recommended. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company.
RAD Grade 5
RAD Grade 5 continues to build upon the foundational techniques learned in previous grades while developing more complex steps, combinations, and artistry. Dancers at this level refine their core stability, weight placement, turnout, and line, while also exploring musicality and dynamics. Dancers are expected to begin to demonstrate stylistic and rhythmic nuances. Character work at this level focuses on basics of the Polish style.Students enrolled in Grade 5 are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam.
Teen Beginner Jazz/Tap Combo
Beginner level class for ages 12-18. No teacher recommendation required. Please call the studio to request a placement if new to The Moving Company and unsure about your level.
Tap 3B (Beginner)
Minimum of 2 years of Tap 2A required (or by teacher approval). Enrollment in 1 additional style a week is required (jazz, lyrical, ballet, modern, or hip hop)
Modern 4
Students must have a minimum of 2 years of Modern 3A and a ballet placement of 3A or higher. Teacher recommendation and placement, as well as, simultaneous enrollment in at least three ballet classes a week is required. Two modern classes a week are recommended. RAD Grade 4
RAD Grade 4 introduces more complex steps and combinations as well as more advanced concepts such as pirouettes and allegro. Dancers continue to build upon their ballet technique while beginning to explore classical and contemporary influences in ballet study. Character work at this level focuses on the basics of the Hungarian court style, with influences from famous ballets such as Swan Lake and Raymonda. Students enrolled in Grade 4 are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam.
Teen Intermediate Jazz
Intermediate level class for dancers ages 12 - 18. Minimum of 1 - 2 years in Teen Beginner Jazz (previously Teen Jazz 1) or by teacher recommendation. Weekly Class Requirements: Recommended to take one additional style in lyrical, ballet, modern, hip hop, or tap. RAD Intermediate
The next step in vocational training, RAD Intermediate focuses on developing the dancer’s technical skills and artistry to a higher level while emphasizing musicality, performance quality, and expression. Dancers are expected to have a strong understanding of ballet terminology and be able to execute more complex movements. Pointe work is required and continues to develop. Students enrolled in Intermediate are eligible, by invitation, to take the RAD exam.
Ballet 4
Minimum requirement of 1 year of RAD Advanced Foundations and/or 2 - 3 years of Ballet 3A (or by teacher approval) Weekly Class Requirements: 3 ballet classes a week required, 4 ballet classes a week recommended Students in this level will be working on complex exercises and advanced steps focusing on rigor, musicality, precision and control. Enrollment in Level 4 is by teacher recommendation only. This class is currently the highest level. Dancers can expect to remain in this class indefinitely.
Teen Intermediate Lyrical

Introduction to Dance 4
Introduction to Dance 4 includes jazz, tap, ballet, and modern/creative movement. This is a full year class and concludes with a performance in the Spring Concert. No experience required. Must be 6 by 9/1/2024. RAD Primary is recommended with Introduction to Dance 4. Jazz 3C

Dance Intensive
Our Dance Intensive is a multi-week dance experience for students dancing at level 2B and up. We can accommodate dancers working toward pre-professional and collegiate dance in our intensive classes. The Dance Intensive focuses on rigorous daily training in ballet and modern dance coupled with pre-pointe or pointe and a multi-style afternoon of classes, including but not limited to jazz, tap, hip hop, commercial, contemporary, and more!
Dance Celebration for Differently Abled Adults
Weekly class will include jazz, ballet, and modern beginner technique using props with an emphasis on building core strength and balance. Camps
Hip-Hop Video Star
A five-day, afternoon-only experience focusing on the various styles and cultures of hip-hop and creating a themed video production! Campers will dance and perform in the video as well as craft props and accessories. Camp culminates in the big video reveal on the final day.
Enchanted Kingdom
A three day, morning only, dance experience with a royal focus! Students will engage in themed movement activities and crafts!
Musical Theatre
A five-day, afternoon-only experience focusing on all of the aspects of performing in the musical theatre genre. Campers will dance, sing act, and create set pieces and costume accessories culminating in a performance on the final day.
TMC Mini RAD Intensives Grade 3 and 4 Session
Students will practice PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique), a conditioning class specifically designed for ballet students, ballet class and dances, and character dance. Students should have a strong interest in ballet and be at least 6 years old at the time of the camp. Current Rad students should sign up for the level they are preparing for examination.
