While the study of basic ballet is encouraged, we understand that many students have a desire to focus on Contemporary (lyrical) and Hip Hop instruction alone. Classes are for children aged five (hip hop) and seven (contemporary) and older and are offered at the beginning, advanced beginning and intermediate levels.

Level of difficulty gradually increases with more complex combinations and quicker footwork. Ballet students begin preparation for pointe work depending on age, individual strength, length of study and ability. Jazz and tap techniques develop with the same rate of progress.

Fundamentals in all techniques continue while more difficult steps are introduced. Placement and strengthening are still highly emphasized. It may require more than one year to complete any given level.

For children eight years and older, basic fundamentals of barre and center work are covered. Care is taken to ensure students use correct body placement and alignment to avoid injury and develop strength. Teachers strive to help studens understand the physical dynamic at work to enable a better grasp of the technique being accomplished.

Placement in these classes are at the discretion of the Director. Students with prior dance experience will be evaluated prior to placement.

Preballet classes are for six and seven year old students with or without prior dance experience. Formal ballet positions and elementary technique are covered, taking into careful consideration the physical growth and strength of the student. Basic jazz technique is also introduced.

Preschool A is specifically designed for children between the ages of two and a half to four and a half. Preschool B is for children four and a half and five years of age and includes beginning tap instruction.

Children explore dance in both structured and improvisational activities. Motor skills, rhythm and strength are developed through age appropriate ballet technique, creative movement, rhythm exercises and the use of instruments and props. Ballet technique is introduced in the form of themed dances. Students also develop social skills, classroom etiquette and ability to work within a group.

Intermediate Contemporary class for ages 11 and up, offering advanced exploration of contemporary dance styles, including intricate phrasing and artistic expression.

Preschool A is designed for ages 2.5 to 4.5 years old, requiring children to be at least 2.5 by September 1st, 2025. This class focuses on introductory movement and fun for very young dancers.

Beginner Hip Hop class for ages 11 to 18, focusing on foundational hip hop movements, style, and energetic choreography.

Advanced Hip Hop class for ages 13 and older with experience, providing high-level training in complex choreography, intricate footwork, and dynamic performance.

Level I/2 is for dancers aged 7.5 and above, offering a combined curriculum in Ballet, Jazz, and Tap. This class provides a comprehensive introduction to multiple dance styles.

Level III/IV requires completion of Level I and includes Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Contemporary. This advanced level offers comprehensive training across multiple dance genres.

Intermediate Hip Hop class for ages 7 and older with experience, offering more complex choreography, advanced techniques, and performance quality.

Beginner Contemporary class for ages 8-12, focusing on foundational modern dance techniques and expressive movement qualities.

Preballet II is for ages 6.5 to 7 years old, requiring children to be at least 6.5 by November 1st, 2025. This class continues to develop fundamental ballet skills with more complex movements.

Preballet I is for ages 5.5 to 6 years old, requiring children to be at least 5.5 by November 1st, 2025. This class introduces basic ballet techniques and positions for young students.

Advanced Hip Hop class for ages 10-13 with experience, pushing boundaries with challenging routines, advanced musicality, and performance skills.

Beginner Hip Hop class for ages 5 to 10, introducing fundamental hip hop dance techniques, rhythms, and basic choreography.

Advanced Beginner Contemporary class for ages 8 and up, further developing modern dance skills with more complex choreography and performance elements.

Preschool B is for ages 4.5 to 5.5 years old, requiring children to be at least 4.5 by November 1st, 2025. This class builds on foundational movement skills for preschoolers.
