Irish Step

Irish Step is an upbeat energetic cultural dance style which is done to Irish dance music. This class is designed to introduce students to the basic steps of soft shoe Irish dancing. Students will be leaping and hopping on their toes with “threes” and “sevens” as they learn various reels and jigs. Whether you are Irish or not, this dance style is a fun way to discover another culture, learn a new dance technique, and get a really good cardio workout! (No previous experience is needed. )

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a very stylized form of street dance using isolations, popping, and free styled movement. These upbeat high tempo classes aim to develop not only technique, but self confidence and stage performance as well.

Musical Theater

All forms of dance are incorporated in Musical Theater. Students portray characters from musicals and plays. This class is sure to develop a student's personality and confidence as well as brighten their stage presence.

Contemporary

Contemporary is characterized by its versatility and can be danced to almost any style of music. The ease of movement promoted by contemporary dance technique allows experienced dancers to push new boundaries of body movement.

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet and jazz dance techniques. Lyrical dance challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A song's lyrics are a driving force and key inspiration for the poetic movement in lyrical dance.

Jazz

Jazz dance classes give our students a chance to show off their jazzy attitudes! We follow the typical jazz class format of building strength, balance and extension through floor stretches, across-the-floor patterns, and dance routines. The movements continue to develop from year to year as the students progress and mature.

Tap

Tap is one of the most rhythmic dances and teaches students to really hear and 'feel' the music. Students work on musicality, as well as isolating the foot and ankle action. Dancers practice a series of basic steps, adding more difficult combinations as they become more proficient. Many students, as well as adults, tap dance for fun and exercise.

Pointe

Pointe is a form of ballet presented on the tips of the toes. We focus on grace and technique. Dancers must have sufficient strength and technique before beginning pointe work. The pointe dancer will warm up by doing exercises at the barre and in the center before performing routines or combinations.

Ballet

Our ballet program is designed to take students from their very first step through classical ballet lessons. It encourages physical discipline, general body awareness and control. Ballet teaches the student to understand the relationship between music, rhythm and controlled movement.

Courses

Dance Intensive

Our intensive program was designed to challenge passionate dancers to perform at their best - technically, artistically, and physically - through professional, focused training in Ballet, Jazz, Tap and more. Dancers in this program not only grow in confidence and technique, but also develop a strong sense of community and make lifelong friendships.
