For His Glory Ballet, nestled in Allendale, Michigan, is a dedicated dance studio fostering a love for movement with a spiritual focus. Our mission is to inspire dancers to bring glory to God through their art, while providing high-quality instruction. We emphasize proper technique, alignment, strength, and discipline, encouraging each student to reach their full potential and cultivate a healthy body image. Offering a comprehensive curriculum for dancers aged three and older, For His Glory Ballet builds foundational skills and artistry. Our schedule includes various ballet levels, from introductory classes for young children to advanced pre-pointe and pointe training, alongside dedicated company programs. Beyond classical ballet, we proudly offer Tap classes designed to develop rhythm and style, and unique Creative Worship classes that blend ballet with choreographed worship songs. Classes

Ballet 1

Students are introduced to concepts of musical phrasing, placement of the body, dynamics, and coordination. Students will learn how to lean into their creativity with improvisation and themed movement. Students are also introduced formally to ballet vocabulary and a more traditional structure of class with warm-up, progression of exercises in the center, and jumping. Dancing to a phrase of music is developed whilst building the groundwork of dancing in defined shapes and spaces in the studio. Use of imagery and improvisation are still incorporated to enhance learning and artistry.

Level 1

Classes will focus on ballet terminology and technique through the execution of barre work, center, and across the floor exercises. Students build their ballet vocabulary and technique, and as they build strength and coordination, their musicality and discipline will also deepen.

Monday 4:15 - 5:00
Pointe II

Dancers use the Ballet technique that is taught within their normal classes, and push it further to be able to execute the same techniques on pointe. This class works on gaining that strength and knowledge needed to be able to fully get up on their pointe shoes, maintain proper positions throughout their whole body while on pointe, and basic knowledge in how to care for their shoes and feet for pointe work. Dancers must be enrolled in an additional ballet class along with pointe/pre pointe classes.

Tech Class

Classes will focus on ballet terminology and technique through the execution of barre work, center, and across the floor exercises. Students build their ballet vocabulary and technique, and as they build strength and coordination, their musicality and discipline will also deepen. This class does not have any choreography in the recitals, and only focuses on technique throughout the year.

Pointe I

Pre-Pointe class is a pre-requisite for pointe work and is designed for students ages 12 and up who have had at least 2-3 consecutive years of ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in the pre pointe class. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. Dancers must have instructor approval for this class. Dancers must be enrolled in an additional ballet class along with pointe/pre pointe classes.
