Thank you for your interest in Michigan Academy of Dance and Music! Payment of the first monthly installment and final monthly installment of the season and a $50 annual family membership fee must be made to complete your registration.

In Levels 3-5 students build strength, flexibility and control while developing confidence in their artistic expression. Levels 3-5 are encouraged to try new styles such as Pointe, Ballet Repertoire and Stretch & Conditioning.

In Levels 1 & 2 Graded Technique classes, students build foundations in movement, technique, vocabulary and choreography. In addition, students are encouraged to try styles such as Lyrical, Modern, Contemporry, Hip Hop, Acro and Musical Theater.

By the time students are 7 and 8 years old, they are ready to “Begin and Build” foundations in proper dance technique while enjoying the fun of music and movement! Dance helps build self-confidence with each new combination they practice and master.

The Academy Children’s Program is the perfect opportunity for the early elementary school-age dancer to grow in confidence as they learn technique basics. Dance helps children develop emotional, social and cognitive skills, while teaching them the importance of dedication, discipline and focus.

Jazz - Hip Hop class is often taken in conjunction with Mini Tap or Mini Ballet. It is designed to enhance gross motor development, listening skills, musicality and nurture the creative spirit. Mini Hoppers combines the fun moves of Hip Hop and musical theater Jazz.

Tap class is a complement to the Mini Ballet class and is normally taken together with it. This class also is designed to enhance gross motor development, listening skills, musicality, and nurture the creative spirit. In addition, Mini Tap is a high-energy class with a focus on learning rhythms.

Ballet class designed to enhance gross motor development, listening skills, musicality and nurture the creative spirit. It introduces the basic ballet steps.

Parent & tot creative movement for children age 1-2 years. Music, movement, balance and basic dance steps are introduced in a friendly and positive manner. This type of class includes an adult caregiver, mom, dad or a loved one participating in the class along with the dancer. Our teachers will keep the music and curriculum moving along while parents take an active role in encouraging, supporting and keeping the little dancer on track.

Dedicated to the art of ballet, this program offers focused instruction in classical technique, pointe, and performance, building discipline and grace at every level.

From Acro to Musical Theater and Hip Hop, these fun and focused classes help dancers expand their horizons and deepen their performance skills.

Focus on choreography, stage presence, acting, and theater etiquette. Auditions for Nutcracker roles held during the workshop on August 1.

Includes Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Ballet Repertoire, Acting for Dancers. Dancers must have completed at least one year of Ballet in Level 1. New students should contact the studio for placement. Final performance on the last day of the intensive.
