The 8th Count Dance Studio, located in Keego Harbor, Michigan, is a vibrant hub dedicated to sharing the joy and transformative power of dance. Founded in 2011 by owner and director Miss Marli, the studio opened its doors in 2015 and has since become a leading institution for dance education. For over a decade, The 8th Count has cultivated a rich tradition, offering a comprehensive range of dance styles for enthusiasts of all ages and abilities. Our diverse curriculum includes Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Acro, K-Pop, and social dances like Salsa and Bachata. We are particularly celebrated for our exceptional and nationally ranked acrobatics program, co-directed by Miss Marli and Miss Jenna. Our dedicated instructors – including Miss Marli, Miss Jenna, Miss Breanna, Miss Carly, Miss Morgan, Miss Leah, Miss Lia, Miss Bella, Miss Sam, Miss Meghan, Miss Abby, and Miss Alyssa – bring diverse training and passion to every class, fostering a positive and encouraging environment. The studio places a significant focus on competitive teams, with students consistently achieving high honors and awards. Classes

Company

The program is designed for dancers ages 6+ ready to elevate their training. This is a 3+ day a week program (2 days per week for our mini team). Team dancers compete in tap, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical (Minis may compete in less). Dancers may also be invited to compete solos, duets, trios or specialty groups. Dancers attend 3 regional competitions & 1 national competition. Dancers attend 1 dance convention. Additional (optional) competitions available for specialty routines. Dancers audition for the program. All dancers accepted to the team must attend our intensive at the end of the summer.

Courses

Acceler8 team

The program is designed for dancers 8+ ready to elevate their training without the commitment of the full competition team. Acceler8 is a minimum 1 day/week program with an option to do 2 days/week. Dancers take can choose between tap, hip-hop, jazz & lyrical for competitive routines. Depending on which they chose technique and/or ballet classes will also be required. Dancers attend 3 regional competitions and 1 national competition. Dancers attend a 1 day convention. Dancers audition for the program. Acceler8 dancers must attend our team auditions in the spring & intensive at the end of the summer.
