Private Lessons

Reserved for private lessons in turns, jumps, technique, tumbling, solos or specific skills dancers want to work on one-on-one. By appointment only.

Intermediate Aerial Technique Drops

Will perform in class for parents at the end of the season and will be represented on our recital slide show. This class will be focus on new terminology, climbing and position techniques and intermediate level aerial technique drops. *Minimum of one year of silks is necessary in order to sign up for this class as this class builds off beginner silks and requires significant upper body strength for more developed skills.

Pre-Pointe Class

Students must be 9+ (can be older thank 12) and have their ballet teacher’s approval to enroll in the pre-pointe class. Students taking pre-pointe must also be enrolled in one of the following classes to ensure they are building strength and endurance in the ankles in order to advance to Pointe: classical ballet, jazz or lyrical. Pre-Pointe does not require the dancer to purchase pointe shoes as this is a preparatory class for pointe and dancers at this age anatomically should not be on pointe yet. Pre-pointe shoes are required and dancers will be fitted for shoes at open house in August. This is a technique class only and is not a recital class.

Beginner-Intermediate Tumbler

Will perform in our annual recital. This class is focused on the beginner-intermediate tumbler! If you love to tumble and flip, this is the class for you! From rolls, to cartwheels, front and back walkovers, balancing head and handstands! Work at your personal individual level!

Choreography Class

Does your dancer love to create and develop routines to music? Have you always wanted to choreograph for a class or a competition routine? These classes focuses on the choreographers toolbox: strategies, methodology, techniques, space, time, movement quality and more at the intermediate and advanced level. This class will also create their own piece using these strategies and display their work at our annual recital.

Beginning Ballet Fundamentals

Will perform in our annual recital. A class designed to work on ballet fundamentals such as barre, centre and across the floor all set to different princess music and theming! A creative and fun approach to continue learning fundamentals of ballet for beginning dancers.

Young Tumblers, Technicians and Acro

This class is focused on our young tumblers, technicians and acro students! Work on perfecting your bridge, bridge to standing, cartwheels, round-offs, walkovers, hand springs, rainbows. Class will also work on basic dance technique such as pas de bourres, chasses, preps for turns, jumps and fundamentals needed for improving advanced skills. *This is not a recital class and focuses solely on technique and skill-building.

Low-Mid Intermediate Turns and Leaps

This class is designed for low-mid level intermediate turns and leaps technique. Emphasis will be on form, quality, and execution of intermediate turns and jumps.

Intermediate Turns and Leaps

This class is designed for intermediate-high intermediate levels turns and leaps technique. Emphasis will be on form, quality, and execution of high level intermediate turns and jumps.

High Intermediate-Advanced Turns and Leaps

This class is designed for high intermediate-advanced levels turns and leaps technique. Emphasis will be on form, quality, and execution of high level intermediate-advanced turns and jumps.

Preschool Acro Class

Will perform in our annual recital. Let’s get rockin’ and rollin’! A fun class designed for preschoolers who love to roll, flip, climb and jump! Focus is on balance, alignment, safety, strength and posture while learning somersaults, head and hand stands, bridges, splits, back-rolls, cartwheels and more in a safe environment with our acrobatic arts certified instructor.

Ballet and Hip Hop Combination Class

Will perform a routine in annual recital. A combination class designed for dancers to learn and work on fundamentals of ballet and hip hop technique. This is a wonderful class for dancers who want to gain skills in multiple styles, learn ballet centre floor positions and skills as well as work on hip hop footwork, stylization, isolations, tricks and more.

Intermediate Ballet Team Class

This team class will focus on intermediate level ballet lines, technique and body form. Emphasis will be placed on position of port de bras, turn-out, alignment, stretching through the knees and legs and proper body alignment and placement.

Advanced Ballet Team Class

This team class will focus on advanced level ballet lines, technique and body form. Emphasis will be placed on position of port de bras, turn-out, alignment, stretching through the knees and legs and proper body alignment and placement.

Advanced Tap

Will perform in our annual recital. This class is designed for students who have cultivated a vocabulary of tap and have developed a strong foundation of tap technique. Focus will be on tap variations, rhythmic quality, syncopation, advanced combinations and clear/crisp sounds.

Ballerina Butterflies

Will perform a routine in annual recital. This is a new class and will emphasize pre-ballet technique while using creative and imaginative imagery such as butterfly wings, wands and lots more! Ballerina butterflies is the perfect class to introduce your tiny dancer to ballet concepts while having fun and developing creativity and imagination!

Pre-teen/Teen Wellness Class

Let's face it! Life is challenging, and there are so many things our youth are faced with daily! This class is designed to give pret-eens,-teens a chance to decompress and focus on their own personal growth and wellness. This class is student directed and we'll focus on various topics and segments.

Toddler Dance Class

Will perform a routine in annual recital. Let’s shake, wiggle, rock and roll! This class focuses on basic dance skills, coordination, balance and more through the use of props, instruments, hoops, mats, climbing, music, sensory objects and more! A perfect class for active toddlers that are new to class structure!

Pointe Class

*Will perform one piece in annual recital. Pointe class will be taken in pointe shoes and will need to be professionally fitted. Dancers will be fitted for shoes at open registration and instructor will be there for approval as well. Pointe class is designed for students with previous ballet training. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles. CLASS HAS PRE-REQUISITES AND IS BY INVITATION ONLY; DANCERS WILL REQUIRE DIRECTOR/INSTRUCTOR APPROVAL BY GOING THROUGH A PROPER TECHNIQUE EXAM (will examine alignment, ankles etc).

High Intermediate Tumbler

*Will perform in our annual recital. This class is focused on the high intermediate tumbler! If you love to tumble and flip, this is the class for you! Tumblers should know basic tumbling skills (rolls, handstands, cartwheels, bridges and be able to attempt a walkover! This class will focus on the next level of tumbling by refining current skills and working towards aerials, front aerials, handsprings, tucks and more. Work at your personal individual level!

College Prep and Dance Refinement

*Dancers perform 1 routine in our annual recital. *Dancers must be 13 by September 1st to enroll This new class is designed for dancers looking to refine their skills and prepare for college-level dance programs and teams AND dancers who simply want to refine their dance skills and focus on turns, leaps and sharpness of skills. This class focuses on technique, artistry, and audition readiness to ensure students stand out in competitive collegiate environments or in their current performance opportunities. This class will focus on technical training, polishing and refinement of movement, strength and flexibility training, mentorship and audition confidence building skills.

Hip Hop and Tumbling Fusion

*Will perform in annual recital. Bring all the sass and style with you to class in this favorite TPS offering! Students will learn a combination of hip hop basics and tricks while also developing their tumbling skills! Come learn two styles in one class and showcase those skills on our big stage!

High Energy Technique and Progressions

*Will perform in annual recital. High energy class focusing on strength, flexibility, technique and progressions including turns, leaps, kicks, combinations and more! Emphasis will be on transitional steps, balance, alignment, technical progression, across the floor and center floor work and more! Studio director pick!!

Commercial Dance

Dancers must be 13 by September 1st to enroll This class is designed for dancers looking to showcase flashy and trending combinations and skills used in professional settings. Dancers will learn choreography styles that are trending and performed to chart music. Commercial dance is primarily performed in settings like music videos, concerts, tv and adverts. Dancers in this class will be featured and shared in media outlets and will be considered and come up with a “performance company” name that will be highlighted as the first TPS dance media company. *This class will not perform in the annual recital.

Pom Poms Class

*Will perform in annual recital. Join us for a high-paced, fun class that focuses on jumps, kicks, beginning pom positions and precision! Poms will be used and dancers will also learn beginning pom stunt tricks as well as cheer technique. Opportunities to perform at local sporting events in the fall!

Junior Comp Team Hip Hop

*Will perform in annual recital. This class is for our team dancers. Emphasis will be on hip hop stylization, across the floor, movement quality. Junior comp team will also rehearse their comp dance weekly in class instead of Wednesdays.

Personal Tumbling/Trick Goal Class

This class is designed for self-motivated and disciplined dancers/tumblers who want to have an extra hour to focus on personal goals! Dancers/tumblers will create tumbling/tricks goals sheets and break down elements to help them achieve those goals with a professional spotter/instructor who will guide them in their success. If your dancer wants to take their skills to the next level while focusing on individual and personal goals, this is the class for you!

Aerial Silks - Beginning Level

**Warm-up, stretch and strength, conditioning skills utilizing aerial silks. Dancers will be introduced to terminology, climbing and base position techniques and beginning level aerial technique such as foot locks, climbs and upside down skills! There will be a parent viewing performance at the end of the season and dancers will be presented on our slide show at the recital! This class requires students who have strong listening skills, patience and are focus-driven. Tumbling or cross training recommended prior to taking this class. *Director and instructor approval required.

Ballet Storybook Class

*Will perform in annual recital. This class is focused on the beginner ballet dancer who loves to be part of the story! Come learn ballet technique while dancing in town with Belle, in Arendelle with Elsa, in New Orleans with Tiana, with wands at the ball with Cinderella, on stage with Angelina Ballerina and more! Storybooks will be incorporated in this ballet class designed for your tiny dancer in mind!

Jazz and Beginning Tap Combination Class

*Will perform in annual recitalThis class is designed for dancers who love the combination class options but prefer two upbeat styles. Focus will be on jazz technique as well as beginning level tap in preparation for intermediate jazz and tap.

Beginner Tap - Level Up

*Will perform in annual recital. This tap class is designed for our beginner tappers to take tap to the next level! If you have experience in our combo tap classes or are between the ages of 8-11, this class is for you! Tap has been proven to help with musicality, instrument playing (great for those in band), coordination, rhythm, increase academic scores and so much more!

Strength and Conditioning for Technique

*Recommended for those with strong work-ethic; approval required. In order to increase flexibility, gain strength in jumps, and hold our turns, and avoid injury, we need to develop our overall strength! This class is designed for those who want to improve their overall technique, strength, skill and confidence! We will use balls, bands, blocks, weights and more!

Adaptive Dance Class

NEW**** *Will perform in annual recital. *Class runs 3rd week in Sept-May; Dancers perform 1 routine in our annual recital This class is for youth where adaptation to needs is necessary. This class is designed specifically for ages 5-adult and may include persons with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, emotional, physical or other adaptive needs. This class is adjusted to accommodate all friends and is all-inclusive in nature with a focus on compassion, warmth, love and belonging!

Advanced Hip Hop

*Will perform in annual recital. Focus placed on strength and core, hip hop technique skill sets, rhythm, stylization, footwork, tricks, musicality and choreography. Fast-paced and fun!

Theatre, Acting, and Stagecraft

*Will perform skit for parents at the end of the season in class. . Do you love the theatre and the stage? Do you love to act? Do you love everything that goes on behind the scenes such as script writing, prop creations and more? This is the class for you! Come delve into an hour of imagination, creation and skill development! Learn how to create and portray characters, develop story-lines, plots and props and have fun being creative in a safe and encouraging environment!

Hip Hop Culture and History

*Will perform one routine in annual recital. Focus placed on learning and understanding hip hop culture and history, strength and conditioning, hip hop technique skill sets, footwork, tricks and differentiation between the various styles of hip hop, and choreography!

Boogie Boppers

*Will perform in annual recital. Boogie boppers is a wonderful class for students who love to dance to upbeat music as well as Students will learn a combination of jazz fundamentals while also developing basic acro dance skills (these are acrobatic skills that are different than gymnastics tumbling skills and utilize dance quality movement and flexibility). Come learn two styles in one class and showcase those skills on our big stage!

Ballet and Jazz Combination Class

*Will perform in our annual recital. A combination class designed for dancers to learn and work on the fundamentals of ballet and jazz technique. This is a wonderful class for dancers who want to try multiple styles, learn ballet barre, positions and skills and work on jazz fundamental skills, musicality and more. This class is a great pathway into more specific genres as it provides dancers with a well-rounded foundation of dance skills and technique. *Directors choice!

High Intermediate Lyrical Jazz Technique

*Will perform in annual recital. A dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, flexibility, and modern dance technique while emphasizing other aspects of performance, such as improvisation, storytelling, and choreography! Focus is on high intermediate technique, leg lines, port de bras, floor work and more. Very popular with our dancers and fills up quickly! This class is recommended for those with multiple years of combo classes or have already taken lyrical 1.

Contemporary Dance

*Will perform in annual recital. Focus is on the fusion of multiple styles such as modern, jazz, ballet and lyrical connecting emotion, technique and groundedness in movement quality. Contemporary is currently the most popular form of artistic dance in the US and is known for its connectivity, passion, expression, athleticism and story-telling.

High Energy Technique Class

*Will perform in annual recital. High energy class focusing on strength, flexibility, technique and progressions including turns, leaps, kicks, combinations and more! Emphasis will be on technical progressions, across the floor, center floor work and more! A TPS favorite and directors pick for technique advancement!

Musical Theatre Production: WICKED

**This year’s production will be “WICKED”! *Will perform in annual recital Join us for a journey through theatre, acting, dancing, singing and the ability to put together a “mini stage production” that will be presented on the TPS recital stage!! We provide professional theatre and voice coaches along with dance and stage instructors while putting together a full production featuring leads as well as ensembles.

Convention Class

*Not a recital performance class. This class takes dance class to another level! Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on multiple conventions every season, take your weekly convention class here! Dancers will be taught different styles and different combinations each week. Emphasis will be understanding how to adapt to different styles, pick up choreography quickly and more! We will explore many styles such as jazz, jazz funk, hip hop, ballroom, latin, musical theatre, technique, floor work and more! If you like elements of surprise and change each week and love a challenge, this class is designed for you! A great class for those who have limited time but still want to explore many genres of dance!

Musical Theatre Jazz

Will perform in our annual recital. Does your child love to make-believe? Is your child imaginative and expressive? Are they always singing and dancing down the aisles of the grocery store? If so, this is the class for you! Focus will be on self-expression, performance, musical theatre jazz technique, singing along and acting! Dancers will delve into the fundamentals of jazz, tap and theatre movement while building confidence and character!

Beginner Hip Hop

Will perform in annual recital. This is a class for busy, energetic and fast moving dancers! Students will learn musicality and fundamental hip hop steps to fun, appropriate music. This class is a wonderful introduction to basic steps of modern-style hip hop and is a TPS favorite by dancers!

Lyrical Jazz Technique

Will perform in our annual recital. A dance style that embodies various aspects of ballet, jazz, flexibility, and modern dance technique while emphasizing other aspects of performance, such as improvisation, storytelling, and choreography! Focus is on beginning-intermediate technique, leg lines, port de bras, floor work and more. Very popular with our dancers and fills up quickly! This class is recommended for those who are aging out of combo classes and are ready to try full hour classes focused on adding stylization and emotion to ballet technique!

Tiny Tumblers Class

Will perform in our annual recital. Do you have an active toddler who loves to hop, roll, jump? Get them started in our tiny tumblers class! Toddlers and early preschool students will learn fundamentals of rolling, hand stands, cartwheels and more by using creative obstacle courses, balance beams, mats, props and more. Bring a stuffy to class and let your tiny tumbler teach their stuffy while learning new skills! This class promotes gross motor skills, balance, coordination, listening skills and more while building strength and confidence!

Triple Threats Class

Love the stage? Theatre? Acting? Singing/lip syncing? Dancing? Can’t sit still through a musical such as High School Musical, Wicked or other tv/stage performances? Come express yourself in our triple threats class! Other components of triple threat include learning about staging, character building, acting strategies through games and activities and more! *This class is open to all TPS students that meet the age requirement.

Pilates Class

Pilates was originally developed to help prevent injury amongst dancers. Pilates strengthens dancers, helios develop deep core support, pelvic alignment and full range of motion, allowing for fluid and controlled movement throughout the body. Pilates teaches us to how to integrate our spine with our limbs so overall movement is more fluid and embodied. Pilates encourages muscle balance by working range of motion and builds support in all layers of tissue.This class is highly recommended for the serious dancer or persons who are involved in sports that perpetuate repetitive movement such as cheer, gymnastics and other competitive sports

Will perform a set variation in class that will only be worked on the last 6 weeks of class to put all skills together and showcase in the studio. Don’t skip out on your ballet class! This class is a MUST for dancers looking to improve their overall lines, strength and dance technique. Emphasis is on fluidity and grace, arms, correct form and turn-out. This class is also a prerequisite to advanced ballet class. Don’t miss your chance to expand your ballet vocabulary, technique, strength, grace, posture and form.

Grown-up and Me Class

Sign up for this 6-week class with your little! Join us for instruments, obstacles, balancing, sensory fun and more!! We invite parents, grandpa, grandpa, aunt or any caretaker! “Grown-up and me class is designed to help your child develop social, motor, and cognitive skills throughout their toddler years. This class will be offered throughout the season and will allow your little to try it once or continue all year!
